R9 290 or GTX780 ??

My case is lined with foam and built for quiet, not air flow, unfortunately. Also, boost is disabled with all skynet's bioses. I have 1228 @ 1.187 now and it seems stable, but my temps are pretty high. As for my relative performance to yours, well that's the silicon lottery.

Throwing my vote in there for a GTX 780. I got the EVGA classified for $560, and while I know the prices are falling, this card is pretty phenomenal. Out of the box the LN2 bios didn't show anything on the screen (yet the computer booted), so I put version4 of skynet's bios on there. Running...

Bump for a pretty good Ford deal. I've got a '93 Ford Tempo that I use as a backup for my WRX. It's got 160k miles on it and runs like a champ with no major maintenance and still gets 27+mpg. Sometimes it's not about speed, looks, or spinner wheels....

What makes one MMORPG any different then another?

Personally, I was excited over FFXI until I bought the game and installed it. Other than the 1 hour install, and subsequent 2 hour download of updated files, the install section was easy. Then I got to the UI. You could tell the game was made for a gamepad, and that adding keyboard support...

Anyone use synthetic oil?

Mobil 1 Synth 0W-40 (the only Mobil 1 that is the older completely tru synthetic formula, dig around to find more info on that.) every 6k with a filter change + topoff every 3k. For the most part, don't believe what you read here or any other forum on motor oil and what to use, when to switch...

Who else has got a daily driver with more than 100,000 miles?

1993 Ford Tempo. Tan, never been to a carwash....ever... 158,000 miles. Runs like it did when I got it (~100k), if you don't count that huge radiator leak that I still have. Oh well, when you are driving 30 miles each way it pays to put the miles on the beater car.

buying a new car...

Chances are if you check the big dealers around you, you'll find a car similarly equipped as the one you "built" on the website. That's what I did for my WRX. I'd take the legacy GT of the 3 there. That's a grocery getter that hauls =)

For less than $100 you can get a stock WRX running 13's. Gut the up-pipe(free), swap a straight pipe instead of muffler($50), MBC($50). It's all about the launch. There's one guy who ran a 12.9xxx with just a turboback, mbc, samco hoses and 1 other cheap mod. That is a pretty rare case...

What motor oil do you guys run and why?

Anyway out of a DUI charge or lessen the penalty?

Your best bet is to tell your friend to find a lawyer who has dealings with cases like this before. Chances are there is a case somewhere (public records...) where a judge gave minimal sentence to someone in the exact same situation. Find that, argue precedence, and you might have a chance....
