I am the same way except I've been doing it for about five years or so. If I had to go back to programming normal Java, I might want to shoot myself. It spoils you.
You can always try Alice to let him play around with the 3D aspect of things. I know one of my professors is on the team, but I never really used it myself. Just a suggestion for the 'instant' crowd.

I've been working with Grails for like two years now. I highly recommend it. Its easy to pick up if you've used Java and the front end is like JSF, but useful.

I just used the standard 2 week disposables. I think they are Acuvue Oasis ones. I've had this pair in since mid April and only took them out once to soak for a night.

Can't really nuke that part of Chester, really rich people live less then a half a mile away. Maybe a large scale carpet bombing would work, but rich people probably don't like all the fallout
Far Cry 2 is the one only one I've stopped playing through lately on purpose. Its the only game I've ever gotten motion sickness from. Otherwise I'll stop playing my fill in the time games once I get a primary game to play.
I don't mind it at all for the most part. I can tell the menu's have been consoleized, but they really aren't that bad IMO.
As for the performance problems, I've had none whatsoever with around the same hardware as the OP, cept an 8800GT 512mb.
I was busy and didn't update for however many weeks. I bowled pretty awesome last week minus the first game where I only beat my wife by a pin.

I'm scared for Baldur's Gate if they are going to try and do it like the originals. If its supposed to be like the console versions, I won't care as much.
I turn off the power strip that has my consoles, tv stuff, and modem every night. I figure since my wife and I are only ever home and awake from 5:00PM to midnight or so, there is no use making my electricity bill any higher then it has to be. If anything, it probably saves $75 bucks a year...

Well you can also do that as well, as I've done it in college (was XC/MD for two years then got moved down to do sprint training). I personally had better mile times doing distance runs with interval workouts then I did doing the long sprint training. Then again, I was aiming for sub 4:20 mile...
Well just getting in a bunch of good miles will help you with the 1.5 mile run. knocking off 1:40 should be easily doable in 3 months. If your running 30-40 miles per week consistently by January, you should be fine for that. Doing that alone will probably make it easier to run a sub 50...
This is interesting especially given the article on Shacknews last night about Epic and how they hate the second hand game market. Apparently stretching your money is a horrible thing to do and by doing so, we are bad gamers.
I have it on the PC and its pretty sweet so far. I only started playing it last night, but I know I'll be playing more of it, especially because its not a huge time sink.
