computer won't shut off power!!!!

hey.. the other day i tried to shut down my computer, and windows did it's shutdown thing.. but then when my compuer power was supposed to turn off... it started making loud LOUD noises, and wouldn't shut down. The noise sounded somewhat like a loud cyclic clicking, sort of maybe like my hard...

ram performance in win 2k?

A7V133 Lockups Under Windows 2000???

just a shot in the dark.. sblive! doesn't like via for some reason. try running w/out the sblive! for a while and see what happens. worked for me.

Could this be causing my lockups?

try running it without the sblive! for a while... i was getting random freezes even with the card in different slots.. finally took it out, been running for over 3 days with no problems. :) now i just have to try to figure out if there's any way to get it to work with the kk266. i heard...

slive! and cdrom dma

i've heard that people that were having random freeze problems when using the sblive! on the iwill kk266 got rid of the problem my disabling dma on their cd-roms. has this worked for anyone? also, would turning off dma majorly effect my cdrom performance? thanks.. the onboard audio is ok...

i got my board up and running last week, but kept on getting random freezes.. not blue screen, just solid freeze. so i reinstalled win2k, and upon the advice of the forums, moved my sblive! to pci2 i thought this had fixed the problem, but just now it froze again. i was just on im and explorer...

i think you are pushing your luck with the 230W, but at the same time i would think you would at least get something from the mobo.. some loud beeps, and light.. just no post. but hey, i dunno, just a guess

Trouble with Via chipsets and Soundblasters?

i'm running an sblive! on an iwill kk266, had it in pci6, and was getting the random freezes. moved it up to pci2, and haven't had problems with it since then. something about the hardware irqs.. supposedly people are liking the onboard sound on the kk266, haven't tried it myself tho

not overclocked at all, and i got the amd agp hotfix and the microsoft dma hotfix. i dont' know if the dma fix did anything.. i'm still getting low sandra and hdtach scores in win2k...

What is the best antivirus software ?

um i just uninstalled norton.. no problems at all. and i'd definitely pick norton over mcafee any day. i dont' know what else is out there, but last year i got a virus and mcafee couldn't do jack about it. all it did was sit there and tell me i had a virus.. went and got norton, cleaned that...

how do i use the awardflash.exe program?

i've been trying to update my bios.. but each time i get to that purple/green awardbios screen, i see the name of the new bios in the box.. but i can't do anything!?!? How do i get it to actually flash the bios? i'm on an iwill kk266, and i set the bios to flashable.. any help?
