WinXP - Automatic Updates not downloading

I had this problem last week ... re-running Windows XP SP1 seemed to solve the problem. I also deleted the Windows Update folder. Good Luck.

Knology Cable

I'm on Knology in Montgomery, Alabama ....use the 3COM cable modem that they provide ... looks like a shark fin. I checked on buying one, rather than paying the monthly rental, but decided to stay with the rental. No problems, always on and fast enough for my modest needs.

Could a bird fly to the ground safely after being dumped from a 30,000 ft (or higher) elevation?

Lack of oxygen would kill the bird ...if that did not do it the subzero temp at 30k probably would ... if those 2 things were not enough, the aerodynamic forces experienced by the bird when it opened its wings would probably tear it apart.

If you have the most recent version of Ghost (Ghost 2001) you can boot off a floppy that has the Ghost executable file on it and send the image directly to the CD writer, provided that your CD writer is supported by Ghost ... check the Symantec.com web site to see if your burner is supported...

Have you tried running the REGCLEAN utility by Microsoft ... or (shudder) one of the Norton registry cleaner-uppers? Norton 2001 Systemworks Professional seems to clean thinks up pretty well on my system. Just a thought

norton ghost experts - need some help!

Suggest that you snag a copy of the ghost.pdf file that contains detailed instructions for using Ghost ... you need to check and see which version of Ghost that you have, although ver 5.1c, 5.1d and Ghost 2001 are basically the same ... or you could just crank it up and take not of the menus...
