Yes the abit p35 is a good mobo. Also look for the 4 mb cache cpu (6420) instead of the 6400. They perform better with at the same speed as the 2 mb cache parts. Saw a 6420 going for $130 shipped in he forums :)
mmmm I would not call it a terrible oc at all. It just needs better parts. Mine is running happily at 3.02 gigs with 1.32volts (1.35 is the standard) It does beat faster clocked e6300 or 6400s) because the 4 mb cache. I paired it with an Asus p5b. I have crappy pc 4200 ram and it is running...
I know :) Coretemp gives me a more accurate picture I believe. I get 36 and 39c idle and
51 and 52c with orthos. Still the tat stress function gets the E6550 hotter than orthos :) Waiting for better ram and I will slap my watercooling too :) Gaming does not even come close to the temps...
Using intel tat I get around 25c on each core. After using orthos for a while I go to 32 and 34c. I am running at 3.08 gigs and for cooling I am using a Scythe Ninga cooler with 120mm fan that spins at 1500 rpms. These 6550 are great chips. Runing with a 1.35 volts. The thing holding me...
MrDudeMan, like bon4432 said it is not hard at at all. I have 2 36 gig mau ones and they fly. I have one for the os and one for games only and then I have a sata 2 250 gig for the pron, I mean the important data :). With todays games taking so much gigs (ut 2k4 is over 11 gigs so far), lost...
I know I was browsing late Sunday night and I saw them and I got them. There are several other nice deals there :) Probably I am going to get another pair or two :)
I ordered on Sunday night some Skechers Collection Men's Cities-Chicago Boot for $19.97 and I am wearing them right now. Extremely fast shipping and great shoes for $20 :)
I installed Windows Vista RC1 and everything went ok until I tried to load UT 2004. I tried running it as an administrator and also with the sofftware compatibility wizard and no go :(
Up to 2.76 at 1.47v and the memory is running at 309 from 266 :) It is really stable and great board. I am really spectical about the tempereature though. It is at 28c with air cooling :)
It is nice and very stable. I have a 3800 AM2 and so far I have it at 2.64 gigs with 1.375 v with 533 memory running at 298 and it is stable. I will try to bunr it in for a couple of days (so the artic silver settles and try for higer) Really nioce board and for the price is great. Realy...
I have this motherboard with a 3800 and it is acting really weird. It is stable and all but it keeps locking the cpu multiplier at 10 so instead of getting the normal 2.4 it is running at 2 gigs. I dsabled the cpu kool and quiet thing since the first time I fired the motherboard. I have to oc...
Well I tried with 2 sticks only and stil no go and I am not going to run with only 512 MB ram :) It is speedy and fell much snapier than my athlon 64 @2.4 gigs. I am only running a 3.3 gigs but it is running very cool I never go over 39c :) I am helping a frien build a computer and he is...
Hehehheeh, this should time me up for next year when I can get a core 2 duo and motherboard for $114 :) That is how much I paid for the mobo and cpu :) Plus I only paid $70 for the 2 gigs of ram :) I am not complaining I just want to see if I can get a little bit more out of it :)
Well...
K, after some years of using amd I went to the dark side again :) I got a Pentium D 805 and an abit aw8-max mobo flashed ot the latest bios. 4 512 mb ddr2 533 2 are smasung and 2 are dell :) Before i get flamed as to why I choose this setup I got it for $180 and that is why :) I am using...
I am using 2 of these boards and they are great. I am limited by the cpus and not the board. One is a winchester 3000 oc to 2.47 gigs at stock voltage and the other is a 3400 venice oc to 2.64 with 1.5v (board has a vmod). I also had a DFI LI-D that I sold because I got the same oc on both...
Yes it can run the X2 cpu's out of the box :) It is aninexpensive mobo but it is great :) I currently have one with a winchester 3000 running at 2.47 gigs at default :) and I have another on its way :)
You will not. I did the same once I ran out of the first 6 months for 29 and I switched to Earthlink. The guys from rr called and they just changed the ID (whatever that means0 to earthlink :) nobody ever came to the house.
