Possibly fried my 8RDA+

Just tried it again, no go. :( Guess i should RMA. Do you think they will RMA it or should i try removing the paint first?

Possibly fried my 8RDA+

Paint shows up fine in normal light, but looks INSANELY better in UV light. I can remove the paint with some paint remover i believe.. Why i did it? I was testing to see if some LEDs would power off of it, so i can do some modding (WOL is suppose to be 5v). I have tried unplugging and back...

Possibly fried my 8RDA+

Well i accidently touched the negative and postive of the WOL together, BOOM computers shuts off. Try to start it back up (4 times), lights ands LEDs just flicker. Sign of fried board, yes... Well i was talking to my bro and he said something about i just have to let the board sit for awhile...

Just got a client's computer in here and they are wondering why it doesnt just auto-shutdown. I looked and saw that APIC is enabled in the bios, but still doesnt shutdown when you "shutdown" from the start menu. Any ideas on how to get this to work? A quick response would be great, Thanks. ;)

Anyone use CPU cooling programs anymore?

If using 98, then i would suggest using CpuIdle Pro.

2500+ is better Value then the 2.4C.. do you agree?

If you love to OC, and you are knowledgable about AMD. Then go with AMD. ;) AMD has always been the best bet for the budget.

Best HSF combo for OCing 2500+

SK7 or SLK-800. You will probably go with the SK7, but since you dont want to spend too much money, dont expect to much for OCing. A SmartFan2, would be good for you, but once again since you arent spending to much money, you wont be able to OC as much as others. Also your PC2700 is a problem also.

ATI > Nvidia Everyone has their own opinion. Like other people have stated, the 9900's and future lines of Radeon's will be out soon enough. You should wait unless you find a KILLER deal.

HDD question

I would first check the jumpers on the hard drive. Plug it in. Boot up. Go into My Computer -> Right Click the newly installed Hard Drive -> Format -> Then start the process (Most likely format it in NTFS). Then your set.

Which 19" lcd would you buy?

IMO, any LCD (Name Brand) that has less than 25ms response rate is a winner. All of the above and name brand. I would pick any of them. As long as you can find a good price on them.

Majority of the time, your bios will have the correct multi (Read from chip) and all you have to do is knock up the FSB to 133. Most mobos default at 100 FSB.

1700+ still the best bang for buck?

Go for the 1700... You obviously arent going to do any overclocking or gaming. Save the money and get yourself a 1700. ;)

Overclocking question - is my CPU the show stopper?

It seems that your CPU is stopping you from going farther. SInce you are passing memtest, but cant seem to past Prime95. What you could do, is knock your FSB down to say 200 and then try to get your CPU to higher than what you have. Therefore you can correctly identify which componet is...

What HSF for a 2500 Barton

Well if you want to do some extensive OCing i would suggest.. SLK-800, TOrnado 80mm, Rheobus. With a Rheobus, you wont have to worry about noise, you have the control at your finger tips. ;)

nf2: what is holding back my fsb ???

Possibly your RAM. I am at 220x8.5 right now 100% stable. Vdimm = 2.99 I've heard that A7N8X's have problems hitting 200 FSB.

166 FSB shouldnt be too much. Try Removing the ATX cable from your PSU to your motherboard. Plug it back in Move the CLEAR CMOS Jumper to the correct pins (To clear it) Leave jumper at the clear position for at least 30 seconds Switch it back Power up

It cant be, because it work sometimes.. and sometimes it doesnt. So i dunno. :( Its actually my bro's LCD. SO i will just bring my CRT back in from the garage. ;)

Garbled Image on a LCD after awhile

I have this problem.. It is rather weird. After i turn off my LCD for awhile and i turn it back on it becomes garbled. When i say garbled i mean like when you have bad TV reception and everything is black and white, but it is green and not as bad. So i have little green dots of "static" all over...
