I can't say how much I LOVE our 501. (sometimes the hard drive is a little loud though) How do you know about the search function coming out? I'm not sure what caller ID support means.

Yeah, good deal. But that is a floor model meaning it's been running all day every day for a long long time. Of couse, in 3 years when the warranty runs out it'll be time (and affordable) to get the HDTV.

Okay enough bs. The ram at compusa was $20 -$20 rebate. How a $25 -$25 rebate with a little fraud thrown in is a better deal, I'll never know.
MODS KILL THIS THREAD!
Big time repost. Easy to find in Sunday's circular which was broadcast here a week ago maybe... Good luck getting the ram today. They were sold out within 3 hours where I live.
LOL
**Midnight Rambler BOUGHT ONE!**
Man they sold you the London Bridge!
Seriously, they tried to give me an Aztec at the rental counter and I told them where they could shove it. However, my friend wasn't so bold and he was the laughing stock at the convention. Wouldn't valet because...
Okay, I've tried to decipher the answers in past posts but I still can't figure it out.
1st Computer - Win2K w/ cable modem
2nd Computer - Win98
I can use ICS just fine as long as I've logged onto Win2k as admin. O/w the Win98 computer can't use it. I've set up an account for the Win98...
JackMDS is giving you the easy way if you want to run the cable. If you (or your wife in my case :D) is insistent that you don't run cable and you want to run the phoneline thing you can use just one ip address. Get proxy from www.analogx.com and use it. Very easy to set up. There are some...
yeah, but you still have to buy that POS Office XP. Even with a coupon I don't want it. Reformat your hard drive 2 times and you have to call them to get them to reactive the program. It's finally happened. Microsoft has become Big Brother.

Plus I LOVE my diamondplus drive. They are quiet and fast. The first time I installed it I didn't think it was working because I couldn't hear it!

m100 is not a better deal than the old palm IIIxe. It only has 2 megs memory and a smaller screen. I'll take the IIIxe and leave style to others. (besides if you want style it's gotta be the m500 :)

EDIT: oops, this is only the palm III not the IIIxe. :o
Just got an e-mail from McGlen's for a 16x DVD Pioneer drive - oem for $25. But when I click on the link, it's for a spool of cdr media. Tried to call them but they don't honor it until the morning. I'll try in the morning.

Thanks. I've been trying to get a digital camera for weeks. Now if only Staples would honor their pricematches! They seem to be real pissy about the Kodak.
Good thread. Hope it lasts.
What are the mechanics behind the pricematch. IE order it online first and then call the CSR? Or do you have the CSR process it all manually, including coupon?

Let's see.
64 megs Ram - lol
ATI rage video card - lol
20 gig HD - ATA 100, 7200 rpm - I don't think so
Sound card - oh it's a small business line - none
Where do I sign up????
WJE,
Couldn't agree with you any more. Had a very expensive Proscan bought 3 years ago. Repair shop COULD NOT fix it. Period. Also had this annoying humming sound. Prolly interference, but shouldn't a set costing that much work out those issues for me. Personally, I'm waiting for the...
Got the Maxtor Daimond Max Plus 40 30gig 7200 rpm drive. Quiet! Thought it wasn't working the first time I plugged it in. What's this about acoustic manangement? How do you 'disable' it?
Looking at the Maxtor website, I found a utility 66to100.exe that will upgrade the drive from ATA66 to ATA100. It said mine wasn't upgradable. More expensive drive must have EPROM rather than ROM?
Phil
Please forgive the newbie question, but is it possible to change the ROM etc from an ATA66 to make it "o/c" to ATA100? Is it worth even making the effort? I thought PCI max capability was 66? Specifically 7200 RPM 30g Maxtor drive.
