I had the same problem with the whole "Call MS to activate your Windows" after you've used your key twice or more. This really blows. Go here and download all your updates.:

My user name has nothing to do with "elite" garbage. Obviously you've been spending too much time playing video games or some other mindless, computer related hobby.
In my own defense, I can assure you that I don't pirate Windows. I bought my IBM laptop brand new and therefore have no need to pirate. YOU need to stop making assumptions that everyone who is looking for an efficient way to update, is a pirate.
I have an IBM laptop which came with a licensed copy of Windows XP. Yes, I'm failing WGA but not because I pirate. According to some articles 2 out of 10 computers will fail WGA, even with a legit copy.
I've had my free acount for about 2 weeks now. Works great and couldn't be happier!

Thank you DeviousTrap for a great deal and awesome service!
I'm glad this guide is still up after 1 year. Hopefully I'll get a chance to OC something in the near future and I'm sure this guide will be very helpful, along with the new article on the Anandtech home page (X2 3800+).
Thanks,
Robert

Where did you find the n00b guides? I haven't OC'ed anything since... well check my sig. I'm really outdated with this stuff but need to get back into it. I'm scared to touch my current rig because I forgot how to set everything up! I've heard terms such as PCI Express, Serial ATA, and Dual...
How out of date is the original post in this thread? I'm trying to figure out which AV to install. I've been a loyal Norton user for the past 7 years and now it seems that they're 2006 product line sucks arse. After reading this thread, I'm more confused than educated. It seems that different...
I was wondering if it's possible to switch a Celeron based laptop with a desktop P4 chip? If so, what are the technical details to doing this. So far I can think of running into issues with the heatsink not being big enough and not enough voltage provided by the motherboard.
Which processor would perform better? I have a budget for a new/used laptop and I'm considering the IBM Thinkpad A31 P4 1.6GHz or a new Toshiba 2.8GHz celery.
Any suggestions?

I picked up another TRUEPOWER430 from Best Buy today. I'm curious if the one I have is defective so I was going to try another one. However, I'm hesitant to open it and get the same results. Does anyone else have this low voltage issue with their TruePower 430 ?? It's really annoying when it...

2.7Volts VDimm

Antec TRUEPOWER 430Watt 12Volt Rail = 11.67 but drops to 11.44 sometimes
My guess is that the power supply sucks and when it dips the computer resets. Can anyone help me figure out why the computer...
ooooright,
i guess the coat i put on was thin enough. i used a Q-Tip as a rolling pin and rolled 2 drops (the size of 1 1/2 grains of rice) across the top.
I wish I could say the same for the Antec TruePower 430. I just got mine and it still drops to 11.4 Volts on the 12V rail when under load. It hovers at 11.67 when idle. Should I send it in for RMA??
I'm thinking about getting some case fans but I honestly don't believe they help. I have the side panel taken off and it's facing the wall so nobody can see it anyways. However, temperature is a concern of mine and I'm wondering if a couple of case fans will improve the temperature in my room...
Honestly, I think my cpu could hit 250FSB if I had a better PSU. After running prime95 and watching the 12volt rail dip to 11.4 before it crashed, I'm confident that it is a power issue. However, the CPU hits 70C so the issue is also cooling. Therefore, I'm going to say screw it and throw in the...
I have some OCZ Gold Rev2 PC3700 256x2 and I'm stuck at 243FSB 1:1 ratio.
Is it a good idea to try a 5:4 divider just to get a higher FSB because that will UNDERCLOCK my ram. Are there any good or bad points to doing this????
OK, so major bummer. Aparently the power supply doesn't do jack for Overclocking.
My 12V rail is still at 11.61V. But at least I was able to plug everything in and get to the desktop at 243FSB. Here is my setup:
2.8c @ 3.410 243FSB
Abit IC7 i875
OCZ Gold Rev2 PC3700 256x2

Well I'm still using a GeForce2 Pro 64MB so I guess you can consider that "low-powered". As for hard drives I'm running 2 Western Digital 80GB Special Edition 8MB Buffer.
Thanks man! You give me hope!!
