Funny that I also got into Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Princeton, and Yale. Maybe all of the admission officers made the same mistake? I will call them to make sure.
You've apparently never heard that Chinese women are generally smaller in stature than their western counterparts and that gymnasts...
How can you say China takes pride in cheaters? Are you saying that the average Chinese citizen is somehow different from the average US citizen? If these gymnasts are indeed proven to be underage, everyone in China will be agry at the government. Please stop making racial remarks like that.
Sure, if that works for you. But the IOC apparently didn't take that. This issue will probably just stay like this. When their passports (possibly falsified) indicated that they're of age, you can't really argue against it, unless you present proof that the passports are indeed falsified, in...
I agree, but as of now, no one has solid proof of these accusations. I would be totally convinced if anyone can come up with some proof. If not, we should move on from this issue. Nitemare seems to bring it up every third post.
Apparently you don't remember America's doping scandals? And where's your proof that China fakes the passports in every Olympics? I don't remember this being an issue in the past years. Oh, maybe I forgot about that just like how you forgot about Marion Jones?
Again, my post was only to point...
Well, like mugs pointed out, the US normally leads both categories, so you really don't know which criteria the US media ranks the nations by. But you're probably right.
Here's the info from wikipedia: "The ranking in this table is based on information provided by the International Olympic Committee. The ranking sorts by the number of gold medals the athletes from a country have earned (in this context a country is an entity represented by a National Olympic...
I find it funny that US media ranks by total medals while the rankings are by gold medals everywhere else, of course the latter is the official ranking...
It's kind of hard to tiebreak when swimming times are exactly the same, down to the hundredth of a second. The whole point of my post was pointing out that giving dual gold medals in uneven bars was not a possibility, not bringing up a debate about the fairness of the judges.
I can't seem to be able to join cs_office servers. Whenever I try to join, it gives me an error saying that my cs_office.bsp does not match the servers. Funny that it was working fine the day before yesterday. I googled this a bit and some guy on a different forum posted that I need to delete...
I did apply to Duke but haven't heard from them yet. I've gotten into Stanford and Caltech so far. I put my intended major as mathematics but will probably do EECS. I don't mind either coasts. The top tier schools don't give out any merit based scholarships, only financial aid.
Oh, I do plan...
If one were to buy, say a used copy Half Life, off ebay, how is he suppose to activate the game? The cd key would've already been used and won't work in steam.
Thanks
Thanks, I didn't know if Fry's was a participating retailer. Hmm...on the actual rebate form ( http://bundleup.logitech.com/pdf/Rebate_C.pdf ), it asks for copies of the UPC code instead of the original. I already sent the original UPC codes for rebates, do you think this 10% rebate will still work?
Does anyone know if I can use the Logitech Bundle Up and Save (http://bundleup.logitech.com/offers.php) offer with two products from Buy.com and one from Fry's?
Here's a similar problem:
Bag X has 5 white marbles and 2 black marbles. Bag Y has 3 white marbles and 5 black marbles. A bag is chosen at random and a marble taken from the bag. The marble is white; what is the probability that the bag was X?
You don't really need that many dev tools. Most people using Debian install the build essentials package anyways, which pretty much covers all the devs tools needed for Gentoo. Although I've never used Debian, but I know Ubuntu loads up a crap load of useless modules by default which delays the...
Beryl is the prettiest and the most distracting. But I still like it, why don't you have IceWM?
Can someone explain to me the difference between all those *boxes?
Conditional probability. We are given that there are at least 2 boys and need to find the probability that the last child is a girl.
So P(A|B) = P(A int B)/P(B)
P(B) = probability there are at least 2 boys (BBB GBB BGB BBG), which is 4 * 1/8 = 1/2
P(A int B) = probability of 1 girl and...
Run the following
sudo passwd
<enter new root password>
su
<enter root password you just set>
Now you're in the root shell.
If you want, add a user to the admin group and they'll be able to use sudo (it's wheel group in Gentoo)
sudo gpasswd -a USER admin (or you can go to root shell...
I don't get why people say the Spurs are a boring team. I'm sure you didn't miss the pass from Parker to Elson? The pass to Duncan between Hughes legs? Barry's ditch to Elson? etc. They are a great passing team and that's not boring.
