What version of youtube are you using...
The animation is perfectly smooth on my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 10.
iOS crams its OS with transitional animations to buy more time to load the app. Was using my friend's iPad and couldn't believe how much time was wasted with these animations. Reminds me...
Enable force gpu rendering in developer options. That solved the stutter in Chrome for me.
Or use a different browser, Chome doesn't seem very polished for Android. The AOSP browser was much better.
Or the fact that we are their biggest trading partner. Why would anyone (other than terrorists) want us to fail. It's a global economy and everyone relies on everyone else. It's hard to believe this mentality exists outside of Fox News.
I do not have this problem on my Galaxy Nexus or heard of anyone else with screen burn issues. It's not something to worry about unless you plan on keeping your screen on at max brightness on the same image for days on end. The same can happen with TVs, so I don't know why you think this issue...
Older people don't notice speed as much. My mom thinks the 6 year old computer I gave her is plenty fast.
To OP: I wouldn't waste money on an SSD tbh. She won't know the difference.
It's much better unless you don't have a data connection. I had a similar experience with you when I recently used a ~$150 Tomtom. The UI was unintuitive and slow. Now I use google maps/nav on a Galaxy Nexus and will never go back to a standalone unit. I can usually get a GPS signal within 30...
So basically you want him to zoom in and be able to read <10 words before having to scroll? You've got to be kidding me.
My mom has bad eyesight as well and she needs to hold the tablet literally 3 inches from her face. She has no problem with a large monitor though. Go for the bigger screen so...
Overclocking cpu and your fps doubles? Bullshit.
If you're lowering your resolution, your video card has less pixels to render, which means higher fps.
I'll try that but I've never opened up a laptop before so it's a bit daunting.
I don't think that's the case since the frequency is once every 2-3 seconds although it's somewhat irregular. I can also hear the normal HD activity sounds when it happens.
I've got a Asus u36sd and there seems to be small "chirping" noises coming from the left air vents. They are only audible when very quiet and about the same noise level as the harddrive. Can anyone confirm if this is normal and if it is infact coming from the HD?
For 99% of modern applications, leaving HT on will provide a 0% to 15% performance increase. There are rare occurrences where HT will be "counterproductive" and they are mostly with older applications.
I'm on TMobile right now but carrier doesn't matter since I'm planning on eating the $200 early termination fee. Long story short, I was on a family plan under my parents account and just recently moved the line to my own account. I previously had a year left on contract and was told that I...
LTE isn't important to me. I just want a phone that can last two years without becoming laggy. If the S3 is out by June, that would be okay but it would also depend on the pricing.
I just found a 2" scratch on the side of my new car (wish I could punch a baby right now). It's a Mazda3 with a "graphite mica" exterior.
I'm thinking of using Quixx to try to fix it but I'm not sure if I need touch up paint as well. My fingernail barely gets caught on it. I'm worried that...
I'm in the market for a new phone and I'm leaning toward a galaxy nexus or s2. Are there any upcoming phones that are worth waiting a couple of months for?
I didn't check with my bank because I didn't think they could do much better. They did ask about my employment situation. I had to print them out a copy of my offer letter and they called my future employer to confirm.
I bought a car about 2 weeks ago and I was unemployed at the time. I did have an accepted offer letter with a company that will start me in about another week. In the end, I spent about $22k on a new car. Put 10k down and financed the rest at 0.9% (36 months) through the dealership. I'm 3 years...
A quick search shows the x120e to have a Fusion 1.5Ghz. I'd imagine there would be a CPU bottleneck there. By "older computers" I was thinking more of a C2D or Athlon 64 x2.
I work in online retail and we get plenty of cases like this.
First of all, this would count as defective merchandise. The company you bought it from is responsible for return shipping. In this case they've given you a prepaid label but it's perfectly reasonable for you to request a UPS call...
I just bought a Mazda 3 S GT sedan and I love it. But there were two things about it that I didn't get to notice on the pre-planned test drive route. One is the tight suspension. It makes for a not-so-great ride if you live in the city with pretty beat up streets. The other is the noise from...
You're trying a little too hard to justify your purchase. OP is talking about his experience going to an SSD. According to you (and others), the difference between a mechanical drive and an SSD is night and day. In some cases it is, but it wasn't so in his. We're trying to tell him that there is...
This is basically it.
An SSD would make a bigger difference in older computers. But like a previous poster said, it pretty much only makes the first load faster since subsequent loads will mostly be from ram on Win7.
Kindle Fire would be your best bet. I got one for my 12 year old brother and he loves it (he mostly uses it for games). It works fine out of the box but if you want to put some work on it, you can install Android Market, or even cm7/9 when the stable releases come out.
Really? $35 an hour to put together phones on an assembly line is not overpaid? That's basically something like $67,000 a year depending on holidays/vacation days. That's a nice chunk of change for someone with just a high school diploma.
Replace "girls" with "middle and upper managers" and your statement is true for the US. Can't remember how many meetings I've had that started with upper management showing off their new iPhones.
Would a i7 860 at 3.6ghz (no turbo) be roughly equal to a i5 2500 at stock (with turbo) for gaming? I'm assuming they are but it's a little harder to compare with turbo versus no turbo, ipc differences, and slight HT gains. Just trying to figure out what to expect when I look at FPS charts that...
