I'm not discounting the paper approach - it's just that I need something that will protect me with online banking, stocks, and various transactions. The information that leaves my computer needs to be secure.

Overheating P4 3.0c CPU

Seems like something else is going on, possibly a fan. Did you compare bios temp reading to asus probe. might try that just for eliminating possibilities. Also, what kind of PSU are you using - couls be something to do with the PSU unit. Good luck

Anyone have an Epson Stylus C82?

I have a C80 as well and agree with you about the quality and the endless supply of ink needed. All injets use a lot of ink though.

Any other Laser printers you recommend besides this one?

This printers fine. But as others have suggested HP has a solid reputation for Laser printers. Also, keep in mind that the cost to service the Samsung will probably be more expensive, and there might be less service available. Techtronic, Xerox make some really good color laser printers. I...

Hostility aside - you should make your swap file static. Since you have a gig of ram set both the minimum and maximum to 2000/2 gigs. Restart and go. Good Luck.

Do you think this system is perfect for game

Here's my take - Good luck. You might want to hold out though and wait for Prescott, or buy 2.4, 2.6, or 2.8 and replace later. You'll probably need a new board as well though, based on latest non-support for Prescot. - buy at retail, and try them out

Network advice for home office LAN

Any suggestions on how to set-up my network? I'm really looking for a solution for my 3 printers as well - I would like to network them with a print server. Also, I have cable and DSL that I would like to somehow tie together.

Best Printer for College w/ Cheap Ink??

I agree - get a b&w laser. You can print out tons of stuff, including all your drafts. Have Kinkos output your final color printouts.
