Just had one of these land and looking to hook up to our R730xd or R620. Mainly looking to fire up the unit and run some tests on the controllers and drives. Any help would be great--thanks!
Note
The HomeGroup (view) and HomeGroup (view and edit) options still appear when you right-click a folder in File Explorer, and then point to Give access to. However, neither option will do anything in Windows 10 (Version 1803). To share a file or folder, select Specific people from the same...
2 new basement computers are not on homegroup. Upstairs computer made the homegroup and I can see PC1 in basement but not PC2 Both should have the same settings, but will check. Thanks again.
*all network discovery settings are at "on"
With homegroup gone, seems like some computers aren't showing up. I thought I made them all visible.
Thoughts? Used to be so easy...bah. Just make a shared folder under the homegroup and you were good to go.
Now that homegroup is gone in Windows 10, what's my best option to have a central computer to host/save/share everything on?
Wireless network with 5 computers. I want one computer to be the main hub to have the folders (mainly excel files) and the other computers can access/save as well.
Any...
Thanks thecoolnessrune!
Right now, I just have a home network with wireless accessing certain folders to get into xcel for a small business. Xcel, photos, etc. Nothing crazy at all. Now we want to work remote, so was debating creating logins and perhaps migrating everything to google...
It's safe...but it's a good point about power going out/etc. I'd be OK having it going to the cloud as long as it's safe/secure/etc. I do not need it onsite.
Thanks!

I'm moving into a new space where we will be working on the 1st floor of the unit and living on the 2nd. I would also like to have a co-worker have access to the network/info off site.
What's the best system for this? Should I set up a home network with logins so we can access...

16gb RAM (updated on my end)
WD Blue WD10EZEX-75ZF5A0 DCM: EARNHT2CG 1TB 7200RPM 3.5" SATA Hard Drive
Would like something that is faster, as it seems to get bogged down. SSD would help. Any...
I received 2 of these in a hardware lot from work. They're great, but the 8.1 needs to be reformatted (guy said he wiped to erase all the old settings, but it's not right....drivers missing, etc.).
What's the best way to do this? USB 8.1 off of eBay or something?
Thanks!!
