Best method to capture video for DVD conversion

go to www.dvdrhelp.com for more info...it's better to capture to hdd, then convert the movies using software like virtualdub that has a bunch of filter's that can make the video look better.

overclock question on 9500 w/infenion

i have a 9500 softmod to a 9700 with infinion ram. and can take my core up pretty high but my question is on the ram. i know infinion sucks at overclocking but when i push it to 310mhz, the only thing that shows artifact is the nature test in 3dmark01. everything else:3dmark03, vice city, jedi...

free SVCD encoder?

the program i use is tmpegenc, it converts video files into mpeg/mpeg2. for more info on conversions, are for other softwares, go here www.dvdrhelp.com

Thank you Asus for the new ATI Radeon XT's.

yeah, it's quite obvious the 9800xt will be out soon since benchmarks are all over the place, but wasn't the 9600xt suppose to be released at around the same time? cause there has been no benchmark on the 9600 yet.

GTA3 Video card?

basically, anything equal or above an 8500 on the ati side, and anything above equal or above a gf4mx440 on nvidia side can play that game.

try virtualdub, not sure if it does .mov files, but it sure converts everything else.

don't worry about it, the difference that 4x and 8x makes is usually less than 5%.

quick question on 9500np

i know the softmoddable ones are practically out of existence, so i was wonderin if a non softmodable one is worth the money(like $130). is it able to overclock well, like into pro levels?

can anyone help me? i have a 5600 256mb version, so i overclocked the ram from 500 to 550. anyone know what will get a bigger performance boost.. overclockin core or ram? and what get's the card hotter?

Which is faster? 9100 or fx5200?

well, i had an 8500 and an mx440, and i guess the 5200 compares to 440 so the 8500 would own it. infact, i see very little difference when i upgraded to a 5600(needed vivo) so the 9100 is a better choice.

temperature question

hi, i'm slightly overclocking my card and was wonderin what temperature should i try to stay away from. right now it idles around 55C and when i'm playin games, it's about 68C, i was just wonderin if this is too hot.

hot?? frys has bgf 5600 for $130

not sure if this is hot but i got one. frys has the 256mb bfg fx5600 for $130 after a $20 mir. this is the one with vivo so that's always a bonus.

Radeon 8500dv All In Wonder (is this a good card?)

well the dv version is slower than the 8500le version so as far as performance wise, it should be a bit slower than the 9000pro and the fx5200, on the plus side, it is all-in-wonder, but if you are lookin for a bit more performance, get the aiw 9000pro.

now you just bough the 9600nonpro correct? did you try and get the pro? cause it isn't really a hot deal if this is a nonpro. with just the heatsink, you won't be able to overclock much, the 9600pro is known to overclock like mad, but not the 9600. i'm not sure the exact numbers but don't expect...

ti4800 vs. 5600ultra vs r8500

the only thing i can say is that what you're comparing is a 4800se and a 4200 8x. But why do they call the 4200 with 8x and not something like a 4700se, cause it is basically a 4200 on an 8x core. it is still considered a 4200 cause it shares the same clock speeds with the 4x 4200. hence the...

Trying out an Asylum FX 5200 Ultra.....

you plug the vivo dongle into the svideo port on the card, it splits the one output to an input and an output.

perhaps before everyone starts accusing/defending nvidia, how bout we wait a bit. in the last week, they've realeased like 4nonofficial drivers. i'm guessin an official version is coming soon, seeing how the 44.03 is like 2months old. if nvidia doesn't improve then fine, if they do then...

Ati9800 or Nvidia FX5900 which one

you really should wait though, the performance of the 5900 would get better once more mature(not cheating) drivers show up, and ati is close to making their next release. so it's not too wise to buy a card at this time unless you really need one, but seeing since doom3 hasn't even come out yet...

8500 LE vs. 9000 Pro ?????

the reason for the 8500 confusions is that the 8500 back in its days, was a ati's high end card. now of course, it is a low end card that doesn't get taken into much high standards as before. so if you can find one of the original ones then deffinately go for that.

either of those would be fine, the difference between the ultra and nonultra is just clock speed i believe, oh and about $100 difference in price too. it new 5600ultra should be good if it were cheaper. if you go with the goldlen limited version of the pronlink card, which is a tad more...

What driver is recommended for a 9800 Pro?

just go for the omega version of the 3.5cats, scroll down a bit and you should see the omega 3.5 topic. heard very good reviews on it so far.

you guys did know he said vivo support right...? well the only thing there in that category is a 5600, and depends on your type of gaming should fit your needs. i believe saphire and gigacube both has made a vivo version of the 9600pro, but none has yet to be seen in the U.S.
