Replacing HSF on a Compaq Presario

I'm sure replacing the fan would help a bit, but I'd much rather put a nice copper block on it...like a sk6 or something. just don't know if it'll fit

Replacing HSF on a Compaq Presario

no, I'm not trying to OC that thing. It's got one of those really tiny fans on it, that probably only push 15 cfm (just a guess), and the PC sits in a room that is a converted garage, so its a little warm (like 85-87). Tends to lock up during the summer months here in Phoenix AZ.

I'm in the school that believes that should be used as a blow-hole, thus exhausting hot air out of the case.

Replacing HSF on a Compaq Presario

Anyone know what HSF combinations will fit in a Compaq Presario (mini-ATX I believe)? I'd like to put an SK6 or something along those lines on it...I'm sure the 800's and 900's are way too big. Thanks for any info you have.

Hot? Hyundai 17" TFT $299 AR

Actually, I stopped by my local Fry's to see this display. The text on the screen looked fuzzy...not crisp as I would expect. Compared to some NEC's and Sony's next to it, the Hyundai looked blurry and fuzzy. Could that just have been a bad unit?

Thermalright SLK 800U$31, 900U $43 ($5ship)

I'm using the SLK-800U now...great heatsink. And yes, the bolt on mounting is much better than the old fashion clip.

Screen resolutions and gaming

So I finally Windows to display correctly (mostly) using a DVI cable from my 9700 Pro to a Sony Widescreen HDTV with alot of help from Powerstrip. Now my problem is whenever I kick off a game, my display goes blank. I"m assuming that it is becuase the game is trying to run at a "non-supported"...

Anyone ever hear of Envision monitors?

Yup...I see them at Fry's (in Phoenix) all the time. My office also has a couple of them. A friend of mine bought a 17" one last year...worked fine until last month and now the lower right corner is starting to go out..basically the screen is shrinking on him. Otherwise, the ones in my office...

component video problem

If I understand you correctly, you are using the Component Video output from your DVD player (3 jacks) and trying to connect that to the Component video input on your TV? If you are using regular AV cables, it won't work. Those are special high resolution output jacks. You need to buy...

What are the correct settings for 9700Pro using hdtv adapter?

Just got my adapter from ATI (the DVI-I to Component Output), but I still can't get the 9700Pro to display correctly. I followed the instructions in the manual that came with the adapter, including setting things to 640x480 and 60hz refresh (which makes no sense to me), but it still is...

Help with 9700 Pro on a widescreen hdtv

Well....tried everything here, but nothing works...I'm stuck on 1 resolution and nothing I do is changing it. I tried the RAge utility, but didn't see anything in there that would enable me to resize the screen. The FPD option also didn't help. :( ??????
