E8400 Orthos testing

Dude...I have the same exact set up as yours. Mine is running at 4.00 Ghz stable and I did orthos all night long and woke up to find the load temp around 63C with the case open. So..take it easy and enjoy your kickass E8400

Single core AMD 3700+ upgrade path?

Does it make sense to buy a factory OC'ed GPU? Such as EVGA KO and SSC editions!? I reckon that it wouldn't be that hard to OC it by myself. I've done it with my X1900XT (but at that time there were no factory OC'ed options for it)

Guys, thanks a lot. Especially to CurseTheSky for providing that golden link to all-in-one cpu/gpu comparison! I think, its time to upgrade!!! I just missed the 199$ E8400 deal...*waits for it to come back in stock.* Also, 8800GT is quite a hefty upgrade too. Thanks again!

Extremely thin mouse pads = what's best

Get the black laser mouse pad from Walmart. As mentioned above, this one: http://www.handstands.com/reta...big_laser-mousepad.jpg Its cheaper than CompUSA if you buy it from Walmart. I got mine for 5$. As far as the mouse pad is concerned, its great. Works as advertised :D.

Benchmarks for comparing Intel Core2duo e6600 and AMD cpu's

Andy, I was thinking about the same. I have a 3700+ 939 DDR 400 setup with a X1900XT 512 card... Its not that it sucks but I just got a sudden urge to upgrade...939 socket is obsolete... Let us know how much of an improve you see when your sysyem is up and running.

I have a similar question so I am just going to reply here. I've got a AMD 3700+ Socket 939 Processor with a DDR2-400 memory. Is it worth upgrading? If I do then I would have to get a new mobo/mem/cpu which is a good 500$ investment(?). Also my graphics card is getting rusty (X1900XT)... oh...

I got Sennheiser PXC 250 and returned it. It sux. Instead got a Bose Triport for a little extra cash (Actaully, twice the price), but its worth it i guess. You pay for the comfort. Dont go for wireless.... if so then get Logitech Bluetooth headphones...

Help with building new PC 1400$

Click on my signature...The total was around 1100 $ (excluding monitor). Its running pretty smooth and is very quiet. Although everything is fine, I would suggest DFI or Asus mobos (Epox 9npa ultra is good but its kinda old) and a dual core processor (3800 X2 or core 2 duo!). Peace!

Oh wait... I remember now. I had the molex cable jack hooked up in a wrong way in my power supply. If you look @ the molex connector, it has 4 pins (female). I think I switched the 5V pin with 12V pin and vice versa when I connected incorrectly in my powersupply. I dont know why I did that...it...

Hi, I am having problems with my dvd drives. I had one installed and it worked fine. Now, when I installed another one, it didnt work, even though I had the Slave jumper right and BIOS recognized it!!!. So, I went back and disconnected the 2nd drive, and now none of them work !!! I dont know...
