Hola. Anny assitance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for some good, up-to-date info/guides/articles on LCD monitors. I am looking at purchasing my first LCD to replace a dying, 6 year-old 17" CRT and know very little outside of the pros and cons of each monitor...
/me fears installing the new card...
So I am upgrading my vanilla radeon 9600 to a GeForce 6600gt. What's the best way to uninstall/install?
uninstall drivers -> power down -> remove card -> add new card -> power up -> install drivers?
Thanks!
From what I understand, the only difference in the AX, DX, LX, or TX models is the 'retail' packaging type. The hardware is exactly the same.
Oh, the AX, DX, and LX also have lifetime warranties. The TX has a 1+1 warranty.
I purchased a second one anyway. That gives BB.com 30 days to get them back in stock so I can PM, then submit the rebates. If not, I'll simply return it.
I doubt if they will PM if on backorder.
As for the pickup, it depends on the CSR. I always have it, but am rarely asked for it. They usually ask for my name and credit card.
On the contrary, I find it much easier to get a CC PM if you order it online. Actually, never had one declind. All you do is show your email confirmation and ask for a PM at pick-up. There are no rebates printed out, so most of the time the CSR never thinks about rebates and PM. The CSR...

[Thx to Gabebeta, Blindbatts, and Fifteenkeys at FW. This is a tough PM and hugely YMMV but can be done. I am only posting this now as the PM is confirmed - it worked for me. The eVGA Step-Up adds a level of complexity and I cannot confirm results as of this posting.]

The plastic case + fan is a turn-off for me. I have enough fans on my rig. But it's the chipset that should make or break this deal for anyone. Good chipset = good data ...
Typical wired mice have a latency from 12ms and 20ms. With wireless, additional latency is added as the signal must also travel from the radio device to the wireless dongle.
Significant? It depends on the user. I'm not drawing any conclusions, just stating some info.
I am looking at buying a new monitor to replace my aging/dying CRT and have found this discussion quite useful.
Good question as my kids have lotsof games that require low resolutions. How do LDCs handel this?
That what makes it YMMV. It worked for me the last time - the CC CSR PMed to Staples just by looking at the Staples sales flyer and didn't even look to see if the CC item had any rebates.
I agree it is a big YMMV to PM to CC, but I've confirmed 2 instances where CC did the PM for in-store pickups. As the in-store pickup receipt shows no indication that a PM was given, there is no reason that the rebates would not work.
Thanks to Spoofee for this one.
Order the Memorex 512MB TravelDrive USB 2.0 Flash Drive for local pick-up from Circuit City for $59.99+ tax here.
Go to CC for pickup and pricematch to OD (on sale here.) Hopefully get 100% PM back ([$59.99 - $25.99] * 110% = $37.40 back), making it $22.59...
Just got back from Home Depot. This item is on sale from the regular price of $24.99. They have them all over the store on end caps, in the aisles, etc.
