If you replace a fuse and it blow again, there must be something wrong with the circuit, overloaded maybe. No point keep changing the fuse without rectify the problem.
They both made 80,000,000,000 bytes hdd
= 80,000,000,000 / 1,024 = 78,125,000 KB
= 78,125,000 / 1024 = 76,294 MB
They both give you more than 76,294MB, so what's your problem?
this should be power issue. either your psu is not the quality type or some bad capacitors on your mb which i don't think you can replace it with soldering iron. Since you have replaced your psu, it may be time for you to change ur mb.
It's the ripple and load regulation on the 12V and 5V rails that detemines, anyway, you won't go wrong with any quality, true CE certified 350W and above PSU. Just my 2 cent.
please define "geek"
exactly how to be qualified as geek?
one of my friends used to ask "wire you insulate" rather than why are u so late. so, is he geek?
Well, at least you can keep your 480 PSU with next upgrade. I would say go for 480 if the price diff isn't that much. then you can safely adds more and more fans, peripherals, etc.
Sigh, you are out of luck, you need to test your cpu with another AMD system or borrow a working cpu to test your system. Anyway, thou not likely, try another set of HSF?
Normally, damage CPU will be detect by bios and warn you with a pattern of beeps (or pattern of 4 leds for msi) rather than turn off.
Suspect something that sits on your pci bus (eg. faulty modem) that cause the auto-shutdown.
random reboot = PSU problem (most likely) or poor contact on AC socket/plug.
even your psu is labelled 400W, but how certain you are on the 12V and 5V regulation. Try ur system with another PSU?
No wonder, couple of years ago i tried to repair a switching PSU by replacing a faulty 16v47uF cap with a 50v47uF and found out it don't work that way, only when i finally got a 16v47uF then it works.
This ESR thing must be it.
looks like you are having the EAX problem, try put back you SB live, set the sound to software emulate on both sound playback device and midi music playback device and give a try?
