w00t! got my hd4830 to 800MHz!

I can't seem to raise the voltage on my MSI 4830. Did the pencil mod but it seems there is no change in the amount of overclock I can do. :(

It's interesting though. I have to retract the 745/1100 and am starting from scratch. Worked just fine with ATI artifact tester, and ran Vantage no prob, but when I go into Farcry and Furmark, I get lockups. So grrr.... oh well, I'll start over with a little more juice. ;)

For those interested, I got a stable 745/1100 on the card with the factory fan and voltage. Any info on the voltage mod would be appreciated. It seems that what I got is pretty consistant with what people are getting out of this nice lil card, correct?

Haha yeah I meant 735. Where are most people at without the volt mod? I have the msi that the link goes to. Is the volt mod a pencil mod or hard mod?

Mine's doing it no problem. I was actually wondering if that was low since I read about people hitting 800... I'm actually testing at 745 right now and all is well thus far, and CPU-Z confirms the temps.

Well, it may be Catalyst 9.4. Installed 9.5 Beta and things "seem" to be working. Currently at 935/1000 with a max temp of 62 degrees.

When I try to go in that menu, it says it cannot find english.ini. Also, when I try to overclock in ati tray tools and hit apply, it goes back to my default clock. I have reinstalled ati tray tools with no luck, and am using catalyst 9.4. Even took out CCC in case, and still nothing...

Thank you everyone. I still need to test, but I reinstalled my drivers, and installed ATI Tray Tools. I will see what happens with that. However, where is the "flash OSD"? I didn't see it in any of ATI Tray Tools' options. Thanks again!

OK, I checked it out, and I do have CCC installed. I thought I had the overclocking unchecked, but it was checked for overclocking. Unchecked it, restarted and it rechecks and enables itself. So I take it that CCC is conflicting with RivaTuner? If so, is that CCCs only real feature / quality...

OK, I am getting confused, I think. I have rivatuner to set my speeds on my 4830. Now, It seems like whatever I set it for results in no artifacting or really much change at all (FPS stay pretty consistent). I stress test with furmark and occt gpu. I've used GPU-Z and it confirms the overclock...

No sound from XFi in Vista

OK, uninstalled drivers and took out the xfi. Then put it in a different pci slot and same error comes up after installing the drivers again. Grrr!!!!

Thanks for the response. This was a fresh install (from scratch). I only used the drivers on creative's website. I did not use the CD. I do have onboard sound disabled in the bios. Mike

I want to replace my "old" 1080i HDTV with a new one, but...

Samsung DLPs are excellent and have excellent black levels. Also the Sony SXRD is decent. Go to www.avsforum.com if you want the best info. I may be holding off because there are some new technologies coming out in January or so (HDMI 1.3).

OK, so I bought it. Ended up to be $85 after instant rebate + I had a $50 reward card to Office Depot = a grand total of $35!!! Awesome, right? Well, it doesn't support Vista yet. :/

Any OCing utils yet for Vista x64?

ATItool has no vista x64 support. Powerstrip does, but it's overclocking values aren't high enough and I can't stand the initial tips screen, which I can't remove unless I buy the program. I may just have to wait until ATItool or something else...

Just curious. Is 5v on a vf700 enough to run an overclocked 7900gt? I can test, but I was curious if anyone knew the average difference in temp between 5v and 12v. 5v is quite a bit quieter...

Just a FYI: I RMA'd my last card as it started having some weird artifacting issues. Got a new one with the infineon memory and scored a 10658 in 3dmark05 and 6056 in 3dmark06. Pretty good, though I was hoping to break 11000 in 3dmark05... :) Oh, and my radioshack is selling conductive...
