What kind of case(with default power supply) do u guys use for your xp1800 cpu?

hey thanks for the reply....i think i'll check fry's tomorrow on my way back to school.....anyone else use 300w power supplies for their 1800 or higher cpus? (btw im going to have two harddrives, one burner, one floppy...and that's about it for now...and of course lan cards, geforce card, sb...

welllllll thanks for your opinion.........but do you think it's good enough to cool the cpu and keep the system stable? You scared me away from the k7s5a so i figure the epox would be a much better option :) about 2 hours ago i saw a post in the hotdeals forum about the 8kha+/xp1800cpu combo...

Good enough to run a stable system with no chance of overheating? Do i need thermal grease? NO OVERCLOCKING for me~1.5ghz is enough for me...i just stopped by fry's and asked the guy what I need for a stable system and cpu since the cpu was oem, and he just handed me the volcano 6cu :\

i picked mine up ! just got back, it comes with brand new motherboard and really is the 8kha+ and brand new oem cpu, i also bought a volcano 6cu as the heatsink for my cpu...anyone know if this is good enough for my system to run stable(im not going to OC)? by the way, the price is amazingly...

Reccomend any Case(powersupply) for 1700 xp cpu or should i go with this 1600setup?

just on www.newegg.com ...the cheapest one that will work :[....i looked at amd's approved list but im just hoping that their list is not up to date :\ If there isn't any decent priced case for the 1700, i might as well go with this setup xp 1600 cpu, k7s5a mobo and the BLACK EVERCASE...

Update w/ Current prices, Awesome Evercase @ newegg - $59 for black (w/ psu)shipped $39 for black (w/o psu) shipped....

should a k7s5a mobo + this case + xp1700 cpu work fine and stable with no problems(like leave it on for 3-4 days straight many times in a 3+ year span), if not i gotta go 1600

basically the only reason people would pay more for an iwill, or any board compared to it is for the overclocking capabilities? What board would be good where u dont care about ocing, just take the speed you're given....?

What does speed of 1ghz P3 cpu compare to athlon cpus?

lol, at first i was like...ok ur post is very discouraging about getting the ecs, but i overread the "avoiding," so yes, i think i'll avoid it thanks to you :) . What do you recommend as a more stable alternate that will do the same things that I'd ask for from the ECS? Thanks lots.

i have 512mb sdram, and my cuv4x can handle a max speed of 1ghz p3..i currently have a p3 550mhz cpu, is it worth shelling over 120 for a 1ghz p3 cpu or should i get a new mobo and some sort of athlON? I'm not planning to upgrade anything else for a while...any opinions(even biased) would be...
