Confusion in buying Asus Gtx 670 Direct CU II Top

I purchased two of the TOP versions for sli. They were initially very unstable in BF3, crashing frequently but updating the bios via the Asus GPU tweak utility has completely solved the problem - no crashes since in any games. They run cool and quiet - very impressed

Giantbomb.com Fallout New Vegas Review - 4/5 Stars

Was getting this same problem (GTX 480 SLI), tried disabling SLI with no difference. Ended up disabling antialiasing from the in-game configuration utility and forcing 8xQ from the nvidia control panel instead. Seems to have eliminated the problem.

Mechcommander 1&2

The download for Mechcommander Gold is an .iso file. I tried extracting it with WinRAR and using the setup file within the folder. It installed properly (using Windows 95 compatibility) but asks for the CD when starting. Could someone please explain what I am doing wrong? Thanks...

Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery

For some reason, the demo pushes my graphics card (GTX 280) to very high temperature (as high as 90C) so my fan is always maxed out. The demo doesn't seem to support SLI either. Granted I'm running high resolution (25x16) and very high settings, but even Crysis doesn't push my temps this high...

As the OP said, it's on sale via Steam for $15 which also has links to the website. Couldn't find any reviews on line but took the plunge since the price was decent. It is a continuation of the Desperados series (same characters even). If you liked those, you will feel right at home.

What's the best 30" monitor out there?

I'm also using the Samsung 305t and am running it with an C2D E8400 and GTX280 SLI configuration. Most everything runs extremely well with the exception of Stalker Clear Sky and Crysis at 25x16 which are both still a bit choppy. You will likely not be happy with a single GPU solution ...

OK if you have the code from your manual you should have everything you need. From the launch screen after inserting your disk, you should see an option to register. I believe you need to both create an account and enter your activation code as part of the steps. You shouldn't have to wait...

n7 are you in Canada? If so, you could try ordering from Memory Express in future: Memory Express If you take their Product Replacement Plan (at extra cost) they will pay for shipping and offer much better turnaround than the typical card vendor RMA route. Prices are pretty competitive too.

Playing Age of Conan.. What would I be better off upgrading?

Need friend number to try Age of Conan

Don't waste your time ... cancelled my subscription due to chronic OOM errors (many thousands+ long thread of users experiencing this with no apparent action by Funcom). Everything was fine until a couple of patches ago, then nothing but OOM errors.

Samsung Syncmaster 30" inch LCD with a outside source?

The Samsung 305T will NOT work with Xbox 360 (or PS3 I presume) even with the HDMI/DVI adapter at least in my experience. If someone has found a way I would love to hear about it.

I have the 305T but prefer the "do not scale" option if I have to use a lower resolution (e.g. Crysis) which leaves black bars around the image. Even though the monitor will display lower resolutions at full screen it doesn't look as good as the native resolution. Even with the black bars...

nVidia GT200 Series Thread

Different story at 2560x1600 especially if you don't want to fuss with SLI'd 8800 series. At this resolution, a single 8800 Ultra still struggles a bit with some games (not just Crysis). I am hoping the 512 bit memory interface coupled with 1 GB will make a big difference.

DX10 worth killing EAX!!

A clean start with Vista might make the difference. I just put together a new build with a clean install of Vista 32. I'm using an Extreme Gamer Fatality edition with the Alchemy package and so far there have been no games that have not worked properly.

I too recall the days of the Voodoo 1 and 2 (owned them both including SLI Voodoo 2). As I recall though, if you wanted an SLI voodoo 2 (12 meg) setup, it would still have run you about $600 CAN, not exactly cheap for 10 years ago AND you still needed a 2D graphics card! Nowadays, a top end...
