7800 GTX 512mb countdown...

if you look on monarchcomputer.com, you'll see the MSI 7800GTX 256mb going for $464. That is a big price drop. I'm hoping that all the 256mb versions will drop to a price similar to this.

windows boot up problem: mobo problem

I just recently got a new seagate 200 gb 7200rpm IDE hd for to go with my a7n8x-e deluxe mobo. I formatted the new hd, ntfs with no partitions and installed windows xp sp2 on it. It was working fine for the first few days but immediately afterward, i started noticing progressively worse...

i can't reflash from a cd. i don't see how clearing the cmos will do anything. it's my bios that's messed up and clearing the cmos won't reset it.

is this setup possible?

this is a general question. I have a hard drive and cd rom drive that I want plugged into my mobo. The only problem is that this mobo has only one IDE slot. so there's only a primary IDE with NO secondary IDE. So what i'm asking is, can I put both the HD and CD rom on one IDE?

the plastic brackets on the xp-120 don''t grab onto the retention bracket on the motherboard. It's not even close. that's what i mean by "really can't figure out how to mount my xp-120 onto this crap"

i actually just received a new mobo from the asua RMA dept: a8n-sli rev. 1.02. and i have a xp-120. I find that the plastic retention brackets don't exactly match up with the black plate. I don't know if the retention bracket is different with different models of the a8n-sli but i'm guessing...

Chance a single screw will mess up a computer?

don't worry about the screw messing up anything in your system. If you're worried about shorting your video card or something on your motherboard, that won't happen. All the PCB's in your computer have a layer called a solder mask which protects all the traces from shorting.
