Laptop internet connectivity issue.

I'm having a rather odd issue with a Compaq Presario 2104US laptop. The unit won't connect to the internet, at all. Now, usually I would attribute this to a virus, or a bad network card, or a proxy server accidentally being turned on, or a manual IP address... or something of that nature...

Dead Graphics Card?

Ouch... I must have really come across as an idiot or something! Hehe, I know the fan is working, I checked it and it's spinning and whatnot. But I tested it with my friend's fan (same fan) and got the same problem. I might have forgotten to mention that.

hrmn... not CnQ compatable, eh? Are any of the aftermarket fans CnQ compatable, or is a stock fan required to use the CnQ feature?

Help: MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum will not POST!

update-- tried buffalo memory, x1-- did not work. buffalo memory x2 in the lower 2 slots DID work and POST. ... but then why doesn't the PNY memory work? My Corsair XMS memory doesn't work either... both are matched dual channel pairs, whereas the bufallo that DID work is just some crap...

okay the d bracket is giving me 1 red 2 green, 3 red, 4 red. which according to the code means bad memory... but I have tried 2x sticks of PNY, 1x stick of PNY, 1x stick of corsair value, twinmos 1x stick, and also no memory at all.... and no matter what I get the same error. 1 2 3 4

first two slots is where they are btw... just tried unplugging and replugging in the ram... now the system just makes repetative, long 2 second "beeps" with about 3 seconds in between each beep.

Tras 10 Athlon 64 Article

I've read on alot of the Anandtech benchmarks that they set their memory timings for memory to Tras 10, due to results determined in a previous article. Can someone link me to the article that found this timing to be successful? I woud like to know where or not I should set my 2-2-2-5...

Cool 'n' Quiet slows down CPU too much

I have the same problem, turning on CnQ lowers my frame rates DRASTICALLY-- I don't think that it is speeding the CPU back UP when it needs to... =\ So I just leave it turned off. MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum AMD Athlon 64 3800+

SYSTEM WON'T STAY ON, need help ASAP please

I've had that problem before-- are you using an aftermarket heatsink/fan combo? Sometimes, when you apply the paste that they give you, it doesn't get applied correctly and that can cause what you are talking about. But the P/S is also a good possibility.
