XP Pro failure to renew ip lease

ok i unchecked that, and it didnt help. yes i did try ipconfig /release ipconfig/renew, and it also didnt work. im loosing connectivity every 4 hours, because my isp's dhcp server renews the ip lease at that rate. Please help!

well I *do not* have this problem under 98se. only in xp. so its not an ISP issue. any other suggestions. ?

XP Pro failure to renew ip lease

XP pro refuses to renew my ip lease. I am on a dhcp cable connection, that renews the ip lease every 8 hours. I am not on a network, do not have a lan, and do not hardware firewall. I am in desperate need of a solution/workaround.

Pezuzu, I wouldn't put much weight to chizow's opinions. It is well known he is paid off by the companies he so fondly worships, and so harhly shoots down anyone who says anything bad about said company.

You may also want to try reinstalling WinXP after you flashed your CMOS This is not needed.

Epox 8KHA+ KT266a.. update 4in1's?

Running 98se, installing the 4in1's, my system takes a considerable performance hit. And there is basicly no way to get rid of them, you have format c: /q. No problems without them. I suggest staying away from them like cryptonite.

Who's happy with their 8KHA+?

I'm pretty sure 99.9% of people running an 8KHA+ are suffering from the "infamous FF LED" problem The FF on your LED *not* a problem. It simply means your system is booting. This is normal.

Well I finally got around to throwing Linux back on my box.. No problems at all. 3d games are stable. Perhaps it is a microsoft os issue.

the problems are lockups, BSOD's, illegal op's, vanishing game while playing. in general, a POS system.

The problem only exists with an amd XP cpu, a Geforce3, and a VIA chipset, under 3d games. Swaping out the mb is the only way to resolve this issue.

Apparently, everyone seems to be having the same problem. Playing 3d games with any OS, any configuration, and a Geforce 3 card. This can only mean a bug with the via chipset. I am extremely disaoppointed to realize this. Also dissapointing is VIA's complete lack of acknowledgement of this issue.

3D MARK2001 Dose Anyone have any scores i can compare mine with ?

ok i cranked up my fsb to 150, on 98se, i get a Can't load NT4lr.dll or something like that error. It wont load 98se. What did you crank your vdimm and cpu voltage up to? any ideas. I've had this rid a few weeks, its time to oc this sucker. also, any tips on tweaking agp driving strength ?

3D MARK2001 Dose Anyone have any scores i can compare mine with ?

no my vid card or cpu is not overclocked. I am banging my head againist the wall with my low 3dmark2001 scores. This new rig should be smokin, AA is not on. I am using GTU (Geforce tweak utility) with the FAST Setting's default. Getting only 27 in the nature bench.. Im about to cry!

mboy - i am nearly the same rig as you but yet only get 5500 on 3dmark2001. Could you please post more details on your settings. I am very frustrated where my bottleneck is. What os are you running ? im on 98se

Ac97 and NIC IRQ sharing

no matter what i've done these 2 devices share the same irq. I've manually set it in bios but the ac97 audio follows it wherever it goes. Help! Also my agp card is not sharing an irq with anything but is displaying a irq steering irq. why is this?

AGP question

oh and btw.. the 11/20 bios fixed the agp aperture size. and.. i downgraded to the 21.83 geforce3 drivers... much faster than 22.80 or 22.50.. no idea why though.

The system is EXTREMELY sluggish with the 4in1 drivers installed. Is why I dont want them installed. The system acts like my old p2 266 with the latest 4in1's..

AGP question

Well after the 5th reinstall of win98se (those via drivers are impossible to get rid of), I am now running with no via drivers whatsoever, except the bus master mini drivers. System is MUCH faster now. the only thing is gaming performance seems a bit slower then it was. Is anyone running those...

AGP write / read wait state 1 enable or disable

ok great thanks.. Only 1 prob still though. When setting the agp aperture to a size greater than 64megs, My systems autoreboots when hitting the desktop. Card is an inno3d geforce3 ti200.

AGP Aperture size < 64mb system locks

I can not set this setting greater than 64 other wise it will auto reboot after hitting the desktop. I would like to throw it to 256 but am getting frustrated. any ideas ? geforce3 ti200 (inno3d)

4x4 Evolution 2 / GeForce3 ti200 texture issue

running 21.83 drivers.. The trucks and trees are flickering wildly in this game and I've tried everything cant figure out why. Anyone have any idea what it could be. I've tried disabling every feature.. no luck.
