I don't think they make the 12.5mm drives anymore, but you'll have to take into consideration that some people might have old spare hard drive lying around that is pretty old. Better safe then sorry. :)

Thanks!! I have this enclosure and will try to update the firmware. My problem with this enclosure is that I cannot daisy on 1394. It will work fine on a single 1394, but when both ports are plugged in at the same time, it just does not work. Hope this can fix it.
