passive cooling for GF4?

After replacing my PSU and heatsink, my copper GF4 heatsink/fan from thermaltake is by far the loudest component in my system. It seems to be louder than when I got in, and I'm wondering if I can disable the included noisy fan and just have a case fan blowing on it if that's taking a big risk...

I have two WD 160 GB hard drives, runnning XP professional. When IE wouldn't connect I restarted and got a string of garbage characters right before the starting windows XP screen comes up (after the IRQ"s of varioous devices were listed) and the computer just hangs with the little flashing...

detecting HDD in 98se

I put an old deathstar HD in an 98se machine as a slave. At first only one of the three partitions on the IBM was visible (only about a third of the drive). I deleted the partition in windows, hoping to refomat the whole thing at once, but now windows isn't detecting the drive at all...

Could my amp have blown my soundcard?

well, the sansui's from 1971, so it only has two prongs, it's plugged directly into the outlet where the computer is, but the coputer's on a surge protector, so it seems something must have gone back through the 3.5mm jack, but then again I know very little about these things.

Big dip in top horizonal of Viewsonic CRT

That file seems to be the souce of the invalid page faults I keep getting when I go through "my computer" for any amout of time. The problem has persisted though a reinstall of windows. Explorer ostensibly shuts down and I can continue doing anything except browsing files when this occurs...

Hey - I tried running memtest86, or whatever it's called, and it didn't turn up any problems. I finally managed to do a windows reinstall and that has reduced the problem to occuring to whenever I have "my computer" derived windows open for a while. There's a prob with "isengine.dll" still...

After a nasty reinstall of 98 SE to get my ti4200 running I'm experiencing ever increasing system instability. It will crash almost on demand when I try to run any kind of video in media player (tried several versions) or when I'm using IE (Opera takes longer to crash but it still happens)...
