No DVD Playback in Media Player

If that's the case a few bucks should solve my problem! In the absence of any other suggestions in the next hour or so I will upgrade to the latest power dvd. Thanks.

I have version 2 of pwer DVD which is not XP compatible. I've tried it but it doesn't work, even in compatibility mode.

AMD and M/B recommendations

My recommendation is Abit or Asus. Avoid raid unless you need it - it consumes resources, and makes setting up the board more difficult. The crushing problem is related to the attachment of certain colling devices. You'll find plenty of info relating to good colling solutions for amd's on...

If the hard drive was previously used in an Intel based system you may have to force windows to recognize all the hardware (forget all previous harwaqre, then load the latest official 4in1 drivers.

Dear Friends

You should buy a Kt133a moboard and an AMD procesor. Buy one of the top rated boards. don't buy Raid unless you need it (it takes up resources).

My ram won't do 133 @ cas 2, but it's garaunteed to, what am I doing wrong? PIC

Did you say the chipset was kt133? If so your not likely to get past about 113 mhz at any CAS settings right? You'd have to have a kt133a to get where you're trying to go.

It appears your suspicions may be correct. Do you have your invoice and packing list? Does the part number match what they shipped you? Can you find your part number on the website. I assume you bought directly from crucial.

My module does not indicate the settings being used, rather it displays the specifications for the memory modules. Here they are: Micron BLSDT1664AG-13EB1 14047204 128MB 8x(16Mx8) SDRAM PC133U-222-542 (CL3 upto 143MHZ) (CL2 upto 133MHZ) Module 2 shows similar information.

I'm running a 1 gig t-bird at 138*8. I ran sandra 2001 benchmark after warm reboot, then shut down everything but explorer and system: Int ALU = 558; Float FPU = 619. Fastest bios memory settings: TURBO, 4-WAY, NO DELAY, HI, 2, DISABLE, ENABLED ... Hope this helps. I can't seem to find any...

kt7a-raid crashes constantly......

When you built or upgraded the components did you go from Intel to AMD? Is this a fresh operating system install? Goto Paul's Unofficial Abit KT7 & KT7 Raid (KT7A & KT7A Raid also) website. There is tons of good info there - very helpful stuff

RAM for O/C'ers - Muskin Rev2 vs. Rev3 vs. Crucial CAS2

I have Crucial CAS 2 PC 133 (2x128). Abit KT7A Raid. 1 Gig t-bird. My systems has been running since installation at 138x8, rock solid stable, default voltages, fastest possible memory timings - SisSoft Sandra benchmarks are 559/621. Have also run at 140, everything else the same - 567/628...

AMD Bus Mastering Drivers Don't have DMA options, well sort of.....

Not sure where you got your information but I don't think its accurate. I had a similar problem when I was setting up my system. Turns out the problem was caused by a resource conflict. According to Windows I had no conflicts but my HD benchmarks seem ed to indicate less than average...

Want to build my own, any help?

Unless you need RAID, skip it. Put your money into the Video card as others have suggested. Remember, the raid controller consumes available resources also making configuration more complex. By the way the onboard non-raid controller is faster anyways.
