Ok ive got an xp 2000+ tbred and ive got it set to 187/10.0 1870 mhz my ddr 333 ram is overclocked t 374, i guess i want to know how fast will my ram go on default timings, every stick is different i realize but has anyone had luck with these sticks? i run 2 512 sticks of 2700 cas 2.5
Hey im running an A7v8x Mb with bios revision 1012 beta running my xp tbred 2000+ @ 177/10.5 for a speed of 1858mhz, best posted speed was 185/11.0 but id only get about 30 seconds out of it before it crashed:( just wondering what kind of FSB speeds people are getting out of there a7v8x boards...
Hey ive got a 2000+xp tbred A and ive come to find i can get it to a max speed of about 1945mhz, but ive found that i can also take the fsb as high as 189/10 for a total of 1889 mhz im just curious which is gonna be better for me the higher fsb or the higher clock speed, i mainly play games and...
thats only 2 mhz out of spec should be fine, i run 1.9v through my 2000+xp tbred and 35 pci fsb for pci and it works fine, and odds are at 1.9v its still gonna last until it needxs to be upgraded anyways
Just downloaded the latest in a slew of a7v8x beta bioses i downloaded the 1011 beta and could only hit 170 fsb with the new ones im hitting 173 fsb and before it wouldnt restart unless i actualyl turned it off and now its restarting like normal i may try and boot it up at 175/11.0 now see if...
unless that 2400 is stock 166fsb in that case i would shoot for 200 mine is stock 133 and ive got it up at 173/11.0 so 40mhz fsb OC and im running a gig of crucial 2700 ram, figure u can get at least a 40fsb OC your looking at 200fsb easily, just the whole HD corruption problem when u run your...
UPDATE! 173/11.0 seems to be the wall for it, but then i said that about 165/11.5 as well, tried lowering the multiplier but the fsb just will not go much higher i can get it to post and hold at 185 with a multiplier of 9.5 but thats sacrificing too much clock speed. Guess this is where ill have...
Hey just got mine finally over 165 fsb, its stable at 172/11.0 gonna try to take it to 175 doubt itll make it without a lower multiplier though, had it posting at 185/10.5 but it was like instant lockup might try lowering multi to 10.5 and going 180fsb id only loose 3 mhz clock speed and gain 5...
with my xp 2000+ tbred i hit 185fsb with amulti of 11.0, tried lowering it to 10 but still couldnt get any better fsb, and the voltage had to be up around 2.0 to hit 185, ur board prolyl has the 5/1 divider but even so when u hit 190 fsb ur looking at facing HD corruption i would shoot for 185...
not sure whats the stepping is but i do know this aparently theyve got some new ones out with a defualt voltage of 1.5 and i guess they are overclocking like mad, do a search see what u come up with, btw there are post all over the place at overclockers.com about them
i have the same problem on my 2000+xp tbred i can sometimes get it to hit 10.5/185 stable, but other times it just wont boot, i didnt know they made the 2400 in a rev B where did u get it?
i run a 2000+xp tbred, not sure if urs is tbred or not but either way i use an slk900u heatsink with a vantec tornado fan and at stock speed it never caps 32c even under prime95, slk800 is a good choice as well and much cheaper, and just in case u want to overclock both these HS will do it, i...
Yeah so i had my jumpers set to default which is no over volt on my a7v8x, i overclocked and took it up to 1.85v and decided id take it further but when i set my jumpers to overvolt and rebooted it didnt unlock the higher voltages in my bios, why the hell wont it let me overvolt....anyone have...

I did just that lowered multi down to 10.5 got the fsb at 185 now for a grand total of 1942mhz not only 45mhz faster clock speed but 20 more fsb mhz, and i tell ya what from after 180+ fsb i noticed a huge performance difference everything seems faster now
dito slk-900u best out there, 2000+xp tb rev A @1910 fsb 182 Vcore 1.9v and temps of 35c under 24hrs of prime 95 with my slk900u and 92mm vantec tornado
I couldnt get this thing to post past 165 fsb on multi of 11.5 so i dropped it down took my ram timings back to stock and managed to pull off 182 fsb and 1910 clock speed. So far best clock speed was 1916 with a fsb of 174. How is this OC
Hey ivew got crucial 2700 cl 2.5 ram and i was wondering what some good settings are for it, i know nothing about ram timings or anything so if u guys could please be descriptive it would be a big help, what are the best timings i can set
The stock fan is prolly reasonably good but u may want a new one, yeah btw ive got a 470w coolmax triple fan psu and its a dream, rails are all tight not even 4% variance ever, great psu stick with it,
those volcanos are allright fans but man the amount of pressure when putting them on is no good. For the cost u might as well buy a seperate heatsink and fan. Slk800 is a great one, so is slk900u if itll mount on ur board, then buy a seperate 80 or 90mm fan with a good cfm rating thatll serve u...
it says 165 because thats the last stable speed i was able to hit, that was at 11.5/165 the new speed i just changed to is 11.0/173 im on a tbred A i beleive and im running via kt400 chipset(asus a7v8x) its still running under prime with a temp up 33c 1.9vcore so i might have gotten past the 165...
Hey looking to take my 2000+xp tb thats currently @1.897 (11.5/165) up to a higher fsb, i just changed it to 173/11.0 for a total of 1903 mhz. Running prime95 right now dont know if itll hold though. Im on an a7v8x MB with 1 gig crucial 2700 ram (2 512sticks), its doing allright so far since i...
So ive tried everything with this chip to get it up to 166fsb but it just will not do it. Ive got a good power supply with tight rails(not even 3% variance. Crucial 2700 ram and the cooling is amazing ran 1.9 volts and temp never capped 35c under prime95. Im pretty sure ive hit the wall for this...
took me about 2 days to actually find the wall for my cpu, just set a multiplier and raise ur fsb till it wont take prime95 anymore, then drop your multiplier and raise ur fsb some more until it wont take prime95. Rinse and repeat until you finally hit the max fsb/multiplier combo u can hit and...
yeah btw dont look at the rpm of the fan, look at the cfm, thats going to tell you how much airflow your cpu is getting. My 92mm fan only spins at 5000 rpm, but it puts out 119 cfm of airflow which produces a temp of 35c max under prime95 with my xp2000+ tb @ 1.897 voltage of 1.84
No i dont beleive that there is going to be a significant difference in the clock speed but as all of you overclockers know its not about that, its about taking it as far as i can take it, and i was setting my sites for a 166fsb. I know theres virtually no performance difference its the...
So i was just screwing around on asus web site and happened to come across a new beta bios which had coincidentally been released that same day. after screwing around for awhile i adjusted my voltages and clock speeds and whatnot. While i wasnt able to get anything more out of my 2000+xp tb...
