Thank you all for your responses! I am planning to use the drive every few weeks. But then I will use it for 2-3 days straight and will write about 300-400 GB each time. The Antec MX-1 is looking real good. I am probably gonna order it tomorrow. Thanks, Philip

Don't larger hard drives run hotter than smaller ones? I think that some cases that are plastic won't really manage the heat well. So, I guess I need either an aluminum case or a case with a fan. Right? Thanks, Philip

Ok, I'm done with Dell laptops.. any suggestions?

Get a Thinkpad. I wouldn't get a lenovo 3000. You are doing the same mistake as before, getting an Inspiron instead of a Latitude. Always go for the business series rather the consumer one.

Can you use a WRT54GC as an access point.

Well, maybe... If the WRT54G is older version (up to 4) it can do WDS with a firmware update (DD-WRT, or other).

2 Linksys Routers and some fun !! NOT

I don't think it can be done with the linksys firmware. However, it can be done with other firmware (dd-wrt). Go to their webpage and read the wiki help. They have good directions to follow.

Linksys wrt54g firmware - V4.0 or 3 potencially available

Samsung 204b 20.1" LCD 459.99 @ CC online

The Samsung 204B has a 20 inch 5 ms TN (Samsung LTM201UX) panel, while the Samsung 204T has a 20 inch 16 ms S-PVA (Samsung LTM201U1) panel. S-PVA gives better colors and viewing angle, TN is obviously faster and better for gaming.

Vaio Laptop won't boot from USB and my CD-ROM drive is dead

I am not familiar with the V505 but most laptops use generic CDRW or even DVDRW drives. Can't you go and buy one from newegg or another place? If not, check ebay.... Many people sell dead laptops and you could buy one for cheap and use its CDRW and keep the rest for spare parts!

If you can get the drive connected somewhere else there might be a solution. Connect your hard drive to another computer and install windows there. If you just move it to the laptop it is not gonna work since the drivers are different. Here is where a free program called "sysprep" comes in...

When I ordered my X41 (Sep 26), IBM website was showing I would get my laptop on Nov 14. I got it within 2 weeks after I ordered it. Do not trust what is on the website. They always ship it earlier.

Lenovo x41

Got the exact thing... I am still waiting for my laptop (hasn't been shipped out yet) but I got a dock and a CDRW. The Drive got here ok, but the dock is stuck in Louisville, KY and it was shipped from Shanghai... Called UPS said they are missing an invoice. Waiting for Monday to contact Lenovo...
