Linux SUCKS and should never be used by human beings.

fortunately for you, there are completely 'free' linux operating systems for you to choose from. for myself, i will happily see distro's ship with binary drivers until that happy day when graphics vendors feel they can open source their drivers without getting caught up in patent infringement...

probably opensuse with YAST. i use suse 10.1 with the KDE desktop every day on the work notebook, brilliant.

the Inq again: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37203 they say 256bit for the 8600, but the translated link makes no mention of memory bandwidth. I sincerely hope it is 256bit!

they can't admit to an Ultra now cos it would piss of people who have just bought a GTX. but in three or four months time when the 520 arrives nVidia will explain that improved yields have allowed an even better performing part which coincidentally, matches/exceeds the speed of the 520...

mATX nForce4 SLI board?

it would be nice to have an SLI board if only to use in a multi-monitor workstation setup, i.e. merely two videocards rather than two SLI'ed videocards. i personally wouldn't touch the the Aria or the Xpack, but i would love a high-end mATX board to stick in a Silverstone SG01. imagine the...

Dell 2405 FPW ... what am I missing?

the monitor is stated as supporting 16.7m colours, that is 8bit colour. 6bit panels usually just say 16m colours which IMHO is a deliberate fudge, the more honest ones specify 16.2m colours which is what a 6bit panel is capable of.

is amd 64 3200 enough?

not if you are running the XT at sensible resolutions like 1680x1050 or higher. if you are running at 1280x1024 or lower then yes, you vid-card may spend time sitting around cooling its heels while the CPU plays catchup.

its £247.00 at scan.co.uk, which is right on par for X800XL cards in general in the UK. for those of wishing to build HTPC's (i'll build another O/C'ing titan next year) silence is indeed golden.
