I acted like a novice. I forgot to clear the bios. Everything works perfect now. You are doing a good conclusion VirtualLarry. The only difference between the e4300 and the e4400 is the clock x from 9 to 10.

4 years old with a Vista exp. of 5.7

4.4 is the lowest score (video card ATI 1650pro with 512) then it is the final score. But my best (main) system is running XPSP2. I am waiting at least service pack 1 before to put Vista on it.

The Asrock is probably a good board too. The only problem with Asrock is the position of the main connector. Having a desktop Coolermaster in my Den + a Thermalright XP-90,it would be a kind of challenge to connect with this kind of layout.

What things would you do to increase performance?

Your sys seems well balance but I agree with MTB. If you add a fast sata or 15k., keep your other drive for saving your work. Use the fast one to boot + software.

Comments for my first build for video editing.

Personnaly....9/10. For video editing with the size of the files it produces, I prefer a small fast drive for booting eg. 15k-36gig. another fast one for producing but a little bit bigger eg. 15k-73gig. and then a super big one other than scsi to archive. The rest you wrote seems A1 to me.

I agree, I was scare to put a 2700xp in that battery pack. I have nothing against crucial. I have 2x512 ecc 2100 with my supermicro granitebay p4saa with a 480 true power. That thing run solid as Gibraltar. It never froze since installation. I buy crucial 100% of the time and it just happened.
