I got the letter from Comcast yesterday, Effective with your March 2003 bill Comcast is doubling your upsteam speed to 256 Kbps* I am located in the Philadelphia suburbs.

I just installed my 128MB Kingston Value RAM that I got from Kingston today, It works fine in my HP ze4101 The last time I checked Kingston's website KVR266X64SC28/128 was $27 shipped free, and KVR266X64SC28/256 was $50 shipped free.

winston9t4, I received my USB floppy drive yesterday, It seems to work fine reading a floppy....I did notice after removing the floppy disk I would get a occasional pop-up message saying there was no disk in drive A or some wording to that effect.

BostonYuk, I noticed that too. That is a feature to save battery drain if the full processing power is not needed. You will see 649MHz, 973?MHz and 1.33GHz. To run at full speed all the time go to control panel>power options>and change power schemes to "always on" We need to find some DDR memory...

Salvador, The outside of my box has no serial numbers on it. On the front of the box there is a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" sticker that says "Nero Free CD Recording Software Included". The model number listed on the box is DR-CDRW2440....I hope this helps you.

Mine is a AOpen drive and came with Nero...not bad for $10 bucks :) Thanks allisolm! oh btw, Nero just listed firmware 2.02 but not the manufacturer. I pulled the drive back out and found the white sticker on the bottom of the drive says AOpen in the lower right corner in very small letters.

Thanks for the reply spidey, where would I find RFC 1700 info at www.iana.org?, I couldn't find anything. The text book says to use www.rfc-editor.org The direct link to RFC 1700 is at ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/rfc1700.txt and is 230 pages of text. I just can't figure out what RFC 1700 exactly...

Shortest length cat5 patch cable question?

Thanks for the replies, I was thinking the same thing. If one meter (3 feet) is the minimum then why do they sell pre-made one and two foot patch cables? What would you use them for?

Shortest length cat5 patch cable question?

What is the shortest recommended cat5 or 5e patch cable I can use without any problems? I now have 3' cables running from the patch panel to the switch, I would like to use 1' cables but heard it can cause problems because it doesn't have enough twists, is that true?...Thanks in advance :)

Thanks for the deal, I got it at $79 when it was posted and recieved it today :D This is the second combo I purchased, I grabbed one back around Christmas for $99 when it had the 900 or 950mhz Duron...I forget what speed :o Anyway it runs great.

BUMP Edit: I forgot the computer that is having problems accessing the other computer is dual bootable (2000 Pro / XP Pro) When I boot XP I can access the other computer. :confused:

I have a small domain that is strictly a Windows 2000 envirorment. I have 5 clients running 2000 Pro and the server running 2000 Server. On one of the clients, lets say computer "Fred" I can see computer "Barney" but when I try to access the resources on Barney it times out with the error...

Can't access my router.

BknAxl, open an Internet browser and enter the broadband router's IP address. The following is the default IP address of the broadband router: http://192.168.123.254 I am not sure what the default user name or password is. I don't own this router, but I would try admin for the password...Good...
