Best value dual core CPU for virtual machines and linux

:)Are you smoking or something, Celeron D is not dual core cpu. the cheaper one is Pentium D 805 but with cripple memory subsystem. Go for Athlon 64 X2 3800+ or Opteron 165, VMWare or Linux love 64 Bit, trust me i always using vmware, you need at least 2Gb or more too work with VMWARE.

XP 1900+ or P4 1.6a?

Hi TheLizardMan, Get AXP 1900+, i very dissapointed with my P4 1.6A because only o/c to 16x133 2.133Ghz can't go higher. assume yang can o/c AXP 1900+ to 2100+, the AXP 2100+ will smoke P4 2.133.

KenAF see www.overclockers.com, in heatsink ranting, volcano 7+ blow away alpha 8045 even swiftech mc462a, i don't know about pal8942.
