How long does an ATI RMA take?

They finally refunded my cash, but only after how many months, so I suggest you call tech support as they seem more willing or able to help, as opposed to hesdoffice.

how is globalwin's CAK38??

I'm using it with a thermaltake fan (same as the one on your VolcanoII), the stock delta is way too loud. Nice solid copper heatsink though, also quite heavy and I wasn't impressed with the clip, you may want to consider a shim with this one. I'm at 51-53 while gaming and the room has no air...

A quieter fan

I had the same problem with the CAK38, I didn't expect the hairdryer effect either. I tried "corking" the entire inside of the case. This deadened the effect, but I thought it was still loud (I also run 6 80mm case fans for cooling). I even corked the inside of the front cover to...

Your powersupply is listed under aopen, I believe. It's the same as mine so that shouldn't be a problem. Why not try a Sunon 40mm fan or the Thermaltake 40mm, they are both supposed to be reasonable in terms of noise levels. oops, I mean 60mm, not 40!

Yes it's safe on everything. I'm using the CAK 38 with a delta hairdryer attached and yes it's extemely loud. I would also check your power supply to see if it's on the AMD list for your processor, as that seems to be a major problem for the higher speed AMD processors. OH, Happy 4th of July...

Yes the heatsink is reuseable, but are you sure your crashes are due to the chip on the cpu, or from something else? I'm running a 1.2 with a tiny chip on the corner and it runs fine at 1.4. If it boots into windows and runs, even with a crack, I would suspect another cause for the crashes, such...

Yes you can run a 1.2 AXIA and it can be a 266 FSB version, I run the same combo. The 12.5X multiplier is in fact a 13X multiplier so it should boot up at 1300.

You can get the loctite window defog repair kit at Canadian Tire, but if you must have the pen, you can get it at Active Electronics (they are in the phone book - not to be confussed with active surplus on Queen street). I believe they are on Victoria Park just below Steeles.

air filters, stopping dust

hito, it has a cover on it you can remove it to expose the screw holes and also to replace the filter without unscrewing it. The cover simply snaps into place.

Can Someone tell me whats a PCI Mass Storage Controller?

Your friend needs the promise controller drivers from the Asus website. The 4 in 1 drivers need to also be loaded, but they are not for the promise controller, they are for the VIA controller chip (AGP and other functions).

I'm not familliar with your MB, but if it uses softmenu to set the multiplier instead of pins, it could be your MB battery is dead and it doesn't retain your settings.

PIII errors

There is no BSOD error. The screen just dumps the icons as it would when shutting down and the screen freezes with my desktop background colour but no icons on screen (does this normally when shutting down as well). At 124 my PCI is actually underclocked at 31Mhz and I've used the same SCSI card...

Which is "worth the money" for TV-out/Some gaming

If all you will be using it for is DVD's, you might as well rent the video as the quality on the tv from any of the solutions you mentioned will be better from a video tape. If your set on using your computer for viewing DVD's on a tv, I would get a Hollywood + and not connect it to the computer...

Actually the fan is quiet, but it rattles because of the loose retention mechanism for the fan. I added rubber feet at the 4 corners of the fan and it no longer rattles.
