Nforce2 vs 875p?

Has anyone ever done a mobo comparison, both features as well as speed(with comparable CPUs), comparing the Nforce2 chipset(AMD) and the 875p chipset(Intel)?? I am interested in a new system and like both of these chipsets. The NForce2 has the Soundstorm 5.1 encoding(thx to Dug in the SPDIF...

SPDIF Confusion/Question

Thanks alot.. Will the Nforce2 do EVERYTHING(movies, games and EAX) in 5.1? Basically, will it make everything I select turn into a 5.1 stream from my Nforce2 board, to my receiver? Maybe not EAX, right?

SPDIF Confusion/Question

I was leaning towards the IC7-G Max3 mobo(Intel) or an unknown(prolly ABIT) Nforce2 mobo(AMD)... I think the confusion is this thread is another reason for my, and others, confusion... There just seems to be alot of people talking and, while I appreciate the help, I hope this thread will help...

SPDIF Confusion/Question

Thanks for the response joeld. I appreciate it. I am considering anything that is faster than my current setup. I have no loyalty to Intel or AMD, but I have read that the current P4's are very OC-able. So, NForce2 if I decide to go with AMD... Anything similar for the Intel platform?

SPDIF Confusion/Question

This SPDIF stuff that are now coming on the newer mobos(I will be getting the IC7 Max3 if it ever shows up in stores)... Is this the same as the Optical cable that you use when dealing with your home theatre setup? I mastered that just fine... Home Theatre sounds great. Now I wanna do the same...

Logitech MX Duo

Logitech MX Duo Now this looks like a nice setup. I have the MX 700 mouse and it is the BEST mouse, corded or not, on the market IMO. Has anyone tried this particular bundle? Does the keyboard work well from a distance, etc? Thanks. Rat.

Vantec Nexus NXP-201

The Vantec does not do this.. Only the Sunbeam. They are always blue if you have them running at full power(12 volts). Once you turn the knob lower, it changes to red when it hit 7 volts and/or lower.

OK.. I have my Sunbeam Rheobus VERSION 2. Make sure you get version 2... I guess version 1 sucks. :) It is perfect! Exactly what I THOUGHT I was buying with that nexus POS. No buzzing at low voltage. It even changes color from blue to red when you turn the knob to lower than 7 volts. I HIGHLY...

Anyone know where I can find a 3Pin Fan cable extender... cable? I see them at newegg.com, they look like THIS. Newegg wants 7.00 for them, which I think is crazy, although I cannot seem find them anywhere else. HELP! Thanks. Rat.

best LCD for gaming ??

I have the dell 1900fp also... Ghosting in CS is really bad. WHile UT2k3 is fine. I think this has to do with a games ability to support the native resolution of the lcd panel. The native res on the 1900fp is 1280x1024. CS doesnt support 1280x1024, while UT2k3 does. So if your games, and...

You are the first person that I have read about that has posted that there is no problems at all.... Not even buzzing. Seems odd to me since every review I have read about this POS says they at least have the buzzing when fans are lowered... Hope it works for you.. Good Luck.

This is another reason why I wish the MX 700 could share a receiver. You have that cool cradle for the mouse that is the receiver AND charges the nimh batteries too...

Thanks folks... I really want to remove some of this cable clutter I have on my desk and down to my tower... Even if its only 1 cable down to the tower, the desk will look nicer. I have read that this receiver can handle up to 7 devices. If they can do a printer and other things(Gamepad, etc)...

Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth!

How does this work if you want to get into your PC BIOS? If I understand this correctly, you cant use the kb/mouse until WindowsXP boots up, therefore the time for pressing DEL(or whatever your BIOS preferes) is gone. Thanks.

Logitech MX 700 Question

Thanks for the reply. Wouldnt it be a nice idea to have them both work really well, using one receiver? I have read that the MS Bluetooth kb/mouse(Optical Desktop I think its called), works well, but then loses it connection for no apparent reason. Anyone tried this product?

Sorry to hear your problems Blade... I will go one step further than you and I recommend NOT buying this cheap POS at all. While it is a very good idea, and it looks really nice, it does not perform AT ALL!! Rat.

Where would it be documented the loads it can handle? There is no instructions of any kind... Nothing. Not on the box, in the box, on the hardware itself. I hooked up 2 fans total.... 1 to Fan controller 1 and another to Fan controller 2. Can it not handle that? :) Please explain...

As it stands now, it works BUT: 1) It stinks like Burnt electronics. 2) It works for about the first 25 seconds, then all fan control is lost. Either you cant adjust the speed anymore, or it cuts all power to the fans connected to it. You want it? :P Rat.

I have the Enermax 400w PSU.. Cant remember the Model off the top of my head. It was controlling only 2 fans. 1 (stupidly) was my Thermaltake Volcano 7+ and the other is a sunon 60mm fan on the back of the case pulling air out. The 4th knob never worked on either model and the smoldering from...

Well, like I said, I really hope it works for you.. But I went thru 2 of them and they both died quickly(10 seconds for one and 30 mins for the other)... If you do keep it and try it, please let us know how/if it worked for you... AND DONT HOOK UP YOUR CPU FAN TO IT! Good Luck. Rat.
