Shopping for a DSLR

As teatime0315 suggested, I would definitely look into used equipment. Lenses in particular are built to last (it seems like they're one of the few things that are these days) and you can stretch your money further that way.

Canon about to release a 21 Mp DSLR

Yeah, I'm really not sure what gap he's talking about. Canon also fills the gap between the X0D w/ the 5D. I am really interested to see what Nikon releases on their high end. They are competing well in the sub-2000 bracket, but they only have the D2X to compete with Canon's high-end offerings.

6800GT's have tigher memory timings than Ultras, so technically a 6800GT @ Ultra clocks will be faster than an actual Ultra. He quoted used prices because he was talking about the person selling the 6800GT he already had. He wasn't talking about starting from scratch.
