Intel Sending Out Previously RMA'd Motherboards as Warranty Replacements

Your getting a huge gamble when you buy open box merchandise. You have no idea what they are doing to test that if anything at all. Open box are returned items from people who bought them. They never go back to the manufacture. Refurbs have gone back to the manufacture and were...

4 Way SLI !!! Smoking HOT

This just goes to prove how disconnected the industry is from the consumer anymore. 4 way sli, yeah I got that email saw the picture and the first thing I thought of was how in the hell are the top three cards going to get adequate cooling. Next was how much will this raise my power bill...

Intel Sending Out Previously RMA'd Motherboards as Warranty Replacements

I have been using MSI exclusivly for the past 6 years. Have had excellent results with them as well. Gigabyte is geared towards the end user, that is why your results with them are positive. If you were a registered reseller with MSI you would have excellent customer service from them as well...

Intel Sending Out Previously RMA'd Motherboards as Warranty Replacements

Well if Intel really had refurbished the boards it would take forever to get them back from China.... :) Industry standard for us builders used to be a 6 week turn around for failed parts. Now add to the mix all the end users RMAing direct I can just imagine the level of service the...

    OCZ Reaper DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) 2X2GB $4.25 AR

Even though it's OOS it looks like Mwave caught there pricing error and changed it to $179.99 making this an average deal at best. Unlike all those Dell deals that fall flat because of poor qc with there website, I bet Mwave comes through on there orders.

    MSI Radeon 4870 1GB - 158.99 AR + ship @ ZZF

Don't be disappointed if it comes with the reference cooler. MSI makes many different part numbers and the R4870-T2D1G is just the overall part number for that series of cards with 1GB memory. The actual part number will begin as a "MS" number.

    MSI GTX 260 - $158.88 after MIR/Live cashback

Your on the right path but not entirely accurate. All dies are cut from the same stock and they are tested to see which ones will be a 280 and a 260 however they do not just disable the extra cores in the BIOS. If that were the case then everyone would be purchasing the 260 and enabling all...

Great deal on chef pants ($22.60 at bestbuyuniforms.com)!

I always buy mine from Here and get the 5 for $99 deal. Usually can get them in straight black (preferred) and if you call them to place the order they will send you 5 pairs in different sizes if you like. Makes it super easy to split an order with a friend.

    Madden 08

I only buy the Madden games every three or so years myself, just a waste of money to updated it every year. They should offer upgrades to it for half price, you know changes rosters and player stats etc... The game to me is extremely boring unless playing other people.

I bought a Soyo board once. Never bought another after finding that a CL sound card could not be installed on the second PCI slot or the system would not even power up. That was enough to convince me to stay away from them. They are like the Kmart of the motherboard world.

I tried Vonage for 6 months and was not as impressed as I have been with VT. Vonage was $23 (if my memory serves me correct) a month and yes I got free hardware with them and a month or two free. Still VT is a cheaper alternative for me. I paid them $230 for two years of service with an...

Which Lian Li case for new build

That's a classic Cheng-Ming case been around for quite awhile, decent design, good fit and finish. I have found that most cases in this price range are decent, go for the design that you like the best and offers the features you are looking for. Most cases are purchased because of astetics...

Which Lian Li case for new build

Aluminum is ok, but does nothing for your case unless you are moving it a lot. I used to use cases made by Skyhawk years ago in my builds, almost all of them were aluminum and of decent quality. But here are some Thermaltake Watch for the 120mm front and rear fan. Cooler Master A...

So the Thermalright IFX-14 is in stock!

Not using the back brace would be a huge gamble, you are looking at a 1.75 pound heatsink on a plastic MB with extreme pressure being forced at one small point of the CPU. And that weight is without the fan or the back plate add those two pieces in and you are over 2 pounds of wieght. Go...

Been using Viatalk for a year, just added a second line this year for a dedicated fax. I have to say that for $199 for my two year plan it is a great bargain. Some days all my calls are forwarded straight to Internet voicemail but 99% of the time the calls do come through to the phone. I...

    Yet another build question...

You are upgrading from a 1900+ sounds like you will use this new hardware for awhile. I would then opt for a P35 chipset and skip the whole SLI bit. Same holds true for your video card selection. Personally I think SLI is a total waste of money. But to each there own.

What Chipset for Home Theater PC?

I would keep the decoding on a separate card. My suggestion would be a MSI Nforce4 SLI board with the built in Creative Labs Live audio. Coupled with a nice low priced AMD64 3200+ or 3000+ processor and a gig of ram. Keep the video simple unless you plan to game with it. A 300GB or larger...

Directv Retentions $15/mo off for 6 months

I disagree, DirecTv has had the Sunday Ticket since DirecTV went live. DirecTV started out charging $99 for the entire season. Now it is 2.5X that price and if you want to watch them in HD it is another $49 (early bird) this year. I have been a DTV customer for years, and for the longest...
