Not to discourage people who really want an Acronis product, but there are great free alternatives out there.
Instead of Disk Director, try MiniTool Partition Wizard. http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
Instead of True Image, try Macrium Reflect...
Keep in mind that AMD skipped a generation performance-wise, so it shouldn't be surprising that two 5870s are better or similar to a 7870.
5870 = 6870 < 7870, more or less
Skott - unfortunately you are probably right. Since Western Digital bought Hitachi, and Seagate bought Samsung, there are now only two major players in the hard drive industry. This means less competition.

In a game, with 2 of 4 cores active, my video card is running 70 degrees C. I expected this case to run a bit hotter, though maybe some extra air flow will help. I didn't check to see what setting the fan that came with it is on. I left it on its default speed.
I received my antec solo today, and transferred my computer parts into it. Although the case is a bit cramped, and my video card blocks one hard drive spot, I like it a lot.
I can see why some people would break off the reset switch, since you can push it in farther than is necessary to make...
Thanks for pointing me towards Antec. In fact, I ordered an Antec Solo. It looks like I should have just gotten it in the first place. I was worried that it wouldn't fit my 6870, but from what I can find, it should fit. It's 9.5 inches if I remember rightly.
I tried this, and I also tried screwing in the video card first, which worked, but then after pushing the video card into the PCI Express slot, it broke the retention lever due to the force of the video card being pulled away from the motherboard. This was while I left the motherboard's screws...
I got a LIAN LI Lancool PC-K7B, hoping for a medium sized case that is relatively quiet and well designed. I really wanted to like it, but I can't forgive a couple of awful design flaws.
The angle between the motherboard tray and the back of the case is > 90 degrees. This causes my 6870 to...
Minimally useful anecdote: I've had a hard drive similar to this for nearly 2 years and had no problems. The difference is that my model number ends with KLA330 instead of CLA332.
This is funny. It just hit 0 on the timer. I hit refresh on steam's store homepage and they were so busy all the sudden that it wouldn't load.
red alert 3 $10.19
trine $4.99
painkiller collection $8.74
C&C source $4.99
elder scrolls III GOTY $4.99
Their DRM is irrelevant because every game's copy protection ever is broken. One copy is ALWAYS good for everyone in that sense. Just look around the internet and it's obvious.
There are so many other problems with DRM, for instance in 100 years old games won't be playable since their...
That's exactly right. I bought the expansion for supreme commander from them. They emailed me my key and also an activation code. It turned out that the key worked for the dvd installer so I ended up installing from my friend's dvd.
D2D's DRM is another example of DRM hurting legit buyers more...
Civ 4 looks like a great game, and this is a great deal, but I hate D2D's activation. Basically I'm not buying it since if there's a sale on Impulse you get it DRM free, or at least on steam you get unlimited "activations." Heck if you buy it on DVD I'm pretty sure all there is is a disk check...
Considering the bat is "one of the 10 new melee weapons included in the game" it doesn't sound like much of a bonus. Anyway, I'll wait a couple months for the 50% off deal. :)
I live in Michigan, and I have to change my wipers every year at least, or else driving in the winter becomes impossible. Perhaps in Seattle you don't salt the roads so much, so that your wipers last longer? But ya, 5 years is a long time for wipers.
The family pack includes the agreement that you can install and use the software on 5 apple brand computers. Otherwise you agree to install the software on only one computer. It's very simple.
Barnes & Noble has $0.01 cheaper shipping for me, making this book a better deal at bn.com. (Not that I care.) http://search.barnesandnoble.c...asp?r=1&EAN=0446549193

I'm pretty sure if you buy DOW2 from direct2drive you'll get a serial number that you then enter into steam, which handles all the updates itself. There should be no problems due to direct2drive.
These are great games, just the combat in the first game is terrible. Jump on boxes to hit things below you. The second game is better so it's worth the minor trouble.
some power consumption info http://www.hardwarecanucks.com...gigabyte-palit-19.html
Edit: note that the figures in the chart are for the whole computer, not just the video card.
I've had trouble figuring out which drive this one is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16822145233
Maybe it's the same as the one you linked at geeks?
PS I'm happy with my hitachi 7k1000, though it's a slightly older version (HDS721010KLA330)
