Following, hoping for an update soon. Need a new ssd as I think my ADATA 64gb sandforce is dying and its running my PFSENSE. Can't have that go down... need new one to update and might try sophos or something ..
Have a question about upgrading wifi and keeping Tomato for main router.
Current setup is an Asus N66u with Tomato. Firewall/static ip configured on this router. 75/75 Fios internet. Wifi is disabled.
Currently have two TPlink TL WDR4300 as AP on both sides of the house to provide...
Yeah I measured for a 14-6 throw but with the 1foot of the projector it is about 13-6 instead. Threw me off a bit. I am doing a DIY screen and it is 120" melamine board approx 60x106.
Will probably wrap a 3" velvet border onto the screen and make do.. :) It is bright though, I have to turn...
Considering trading my BenQ W6000 for this as it has more Zoom . I mis-measured and not sure what to do in my theatre room! :P Got the W6000 from Frys but didnt account for the depth of the projector when mounting it and thus the screen is about 6-8 inches too small for the 120" screen on the...
Nice thread. Interesting read as I build my 24bay zfs similar setup. Will be doing two 12drive raidz2 pools. Now if newegg would lift the dumb 5 drive limit on those F4 drives so I can get going
I love mine. Verizon fios with cablecard setup on an i7 920 12gb ram and 10tb in raid5 (for about 7.5tb of space) :) Already filling up with hd and might have to build a separate box for all my hd movies/tv series now..
Now if i can figure out how to get the commercials to auto remove! :(...
I have this. I use my own linksys gigabit N router. the NIM only downloads the VOD and guide. I actually dont even need that anymore as I purchased a tv tuner card and setup a 10tb media center to record all my fios tv..
However before, you will notice the guide updates faster and the VOD...
Im in the exact same situation.
Im building a media server/dvr.
Will run the OS off an extra 60gb Vertex SSD I have.
I bought four 2tb Samsung F4 drives from newegg this week and I was considering Raid0/Raid5 but can't decide on what to do.
Is there a way to setup two raid 0 setups...
I am doing the same, Returning my asus pro (due to online reviews, i received it today but will be returning without opening) and I have purchased the Extreme6 Asrock as a replacement to match with the 2500k I got from MC. Will see how it goes! Looking forward to having the extra SATA3 and...
Wonder if this will fix the problems reported online. I am returning mine without opening it and going to the Asrock p67 Extreme6 instead.. bad decision? I think im only giving up intel lan and bluetooth..
I have a 2405 that i paid over $800 for. The colors/brightness on this one are much better. Wish I had 2 of these now at the same price i paid for the one!.
I've been looking at the exact same deal, but the XXX version that is 25mhz faster for $5 more.. might bite on that since I can't find any other deals, I just hate Tigerdirect!
What do these switches actually do beyond a regular gigabit switch? I have 3 gigabits in my home, one in the office that hooks up most everything and supplies internet throughout the house, one in the attic connected to the office one, and the attic one runs down into the bedrooms and game...
Sorry to bump, but I got on this deal two weeks ago when it was alive however it still hasnt shipped. Is it still worth it to keep the 5870 or get the new Nvidia or wait for lower prices on the 5870?
You could probably take the HD out of the WHS box, clone it on your main pc and keep a backup image of the WHS install on your pc as a backup.
I wish I would have done this. i ahve the same setup, I upgraded my NIC drivers to hopefully get better speeds, however I wasn't thinking and upon...
I would get two SSD in a raid (If you have the money just get one large SSD to avoid raid and keep TRIM) for the extra space. Install your OS, programs and a few games that will fit on the space. The more space free on an SSD the faster they run.
Get a large 1-2tb WD Black drive/Samsung for...
Was just about to post a similar question.
I am looking to play and learn more with soldering.
I want to buy a kit to buy a couple of practice board projects (like the little robots or alarm clock for beginners) , so I can eventually install mod chips to my xbox or fix motherboards if...

Would an MSI be my best bet? I am just upgrading for video encoding performance and slight gaming (starcraft 2 when it comes out!) I have a 9800GT PCI-E currently and will not be running SLI.
Will run an i7 920 d0 to 4ghz with an H50, 6gb ram and no pci cards, just lots of 1.5tb hard drives...
