Are the Swiftech's (dont have the model name handy) more quiet than the GlobalWin CAK38

I have the Swiftech MC370 with a Thermaltake 60 mm fan (got it at sidewindercomputers) and it's working very well and more silent than I ever expected!

Looking for AMD 1.4ghz DDR Motherboard

Racing Wheel!!!

Get one with force-feedback. They are much more fun for racing games! I've had my Microsoft FF Wheel for abou t2 years now and its been a lot of fun. There might be better stuff around, though... If you don't have the money right now, just wait until you have it, it's worth the wait!

What I did for my father's laptop was to buy an external firewire case and put a plextor 12x10x32x in it. It ended up a better deal than any other external drive that I could find - a little more than the USB drives, which are slow and ridiculously expensive.

Help me shop for cooling for a 1.4ghz...

Right now I am waiting for the Swiftech mcx370 + thermaltake 60mm fan. Should be a good combo for about that range of price, and supposedly not very loud. I'll tell you as soon as I get it.

Tom's hardware dissapointed me!

Yes, MPEG2 is much nicer than MPEG4 but you have to concider that it also takes up at least 5-10x more space than MPEG4... The images Tom showed in his page are compressed to a pretty high rate of compression. If you compress it a little less (say, putting a whole movie into 2 cds instead of 1)...
