2015+ Subaru Outback

I have a 2015 2.5i. The 4 cyl is a bit slow sometimes but I usually don't notice it in daily driving. Eyesight is a must, that system is fantastic at cruising even in traffic.

2 Subaru's over the last 8 years, never had any measurable oil loss between oil changes ever. But then, my 2006 Forester and 2010 Outback aren't on that class action list either...

Stopping distance

I just looked it up for my car, got me curious. Subaru Outback 3.6R 60-0 in 131 ft on OEM M&S tires. Not too shabby for such a big sucker.

Pseudo limited slip differentials

My Subaru Outback has an e-diff for the front wheels and it really does seem to work well. It has worked noticeably for me on a few occasions on wet roads, snow, and dirt/rocks. I would still prefer a mechanical LSD on both axles, but the e-diff is absolutely better than nothing.

Corvette drag race fail.

The inspection sticker goes in the lower left corner of the window so if it was further to the left side it's in the right place... by law the registration sticker can go above the inspection sticker, or to the right of the inspection sticker along the bottom of the windshield.

Michelin Hydroedge

I've got them on my Outback. They handle wet roads very well, and don't give up any dry performance at all, unless your comparing to summer tires. They handled the recent ice/snow that we had in DFW last month very well, so there's no loss of perfarmance there either. I've also had them off in...

I average 23-24 mpg in my 2010 3.6R. About half city/half freeway. On a nice long country road trip I was getting about 28 mpg @90mph

Why do old guys buy toppers/shells for their trucks?

Just throwing out some options... A truck with a shell still seperates the cargo from the people, great for smelly or nasty stuff. A shell is easy to remove, so the truck can still be used for oversized cargo when needed. Most cargo vans these days don't come with 4WD.

wth! my van's MPG went from 23 to 8.

I had a timing belt failure one time where it didn't break, but it allowed to timing to change (and continually get worse). The car got very sluggish, and was wasting gas like crazy.

Should I remove the intake resonator on my Civic?

You might actually decrease the power output. The resonator is there to smooth out the intake airflow, without it the intake air will be more turbulent going into the intake manifold=less air getting to the cylinders=less power.

The older Outbacks didn't actually handle like sedans either, you can't have 9" of ground clearance plus a long travel suspension and feel like a sedan. The new one is floaty'er than the old model (but has even more ground clearance than the old one did ), but it's not the "huuuuuuge" difference...

MPG question for Ford Fusion

It's probably the software in the ECU, the SE gets the normal map, and the SEL get's a more aggressive map that increases responsiveness and "fun" at the cost of MPG.
