how well do the Pentium D's overclock?

I have a Pentium D 820 2.8@3.4 running on a Asus P5LD2. Under a Zalman 7700 AlCu, i get 76C under seti full load at stock vcore of 1.25-1.40. I manually set voore to 1.275 and it dropped to 72C, and have no stability issue. I have no fooled with FSB, MCH, and ICH voltages yet so i dont know...

Celeron M 1.3 @ 2.35 (90nm Dothan core w/ 1M L2)

I'm stuck at 13x180 since I cannot raise Vcore in the bios. I am already using the newest bios from AOpen, 1.01a(beta), and water-cooling it with Corsair Hydrocool 200ex. Seti load temp is at 25c using water. Any ideas what else I can do to either raise oc or vcore?

Celeron M 1.3 @ 2.35 (90nm Dothan core w/ 1M L2)

The C-M@2.35(13x180) is running at 43c after running seti for 15 mins. You can use any multiplier of 13 or below, and fsb of 100-400. Since I'm still using the stock HSF and Vcore, I dont want to push it any further until I swap in my Hydrocool200ex. Here's some preliminary benchies @ 2.35...

INSANE overclock on Celeron 325 (2.5Ghz) to 3.8Ghz

Bought a Celeron D 325 (2.53ghz) at Fry's about a month ago for $85. On a P4P800 ($55 newegg refurb), 3.85ghz on slk947 (1.5v @ 46C load) 4.05ghz on Hydrocool (1.6v @ 36C load, board will not boot any higher than 1.6v) Sorry I don't have stock cooler data since it's an oem cpu. At 4.05ghz 1:1...

The NEW Celeron's are out, what's the verdict??

Finally broke into 4ghz! Using a Corsair Hydrocool 200ex, it's running at 4008mhz (19x211) on 1.6v. Load temp at 39C, vcore drops from 1.6v to 1.55v. With my 350w Antec, I can only go up to 1.6 vcore which 12v is already at 11.8v. At 1.625, it will not go into Windows at all. My 550w should be...

The NEW Celeron's are out, what's the verdict??

It's running stable at 19x205=3895 on a slk-947 now, 1.504V(1.550V idle), 47C under load (SETI). It runs SuperPI 1M in 42 seconds(memory @1:1 2.5-3-3-7 for now, will rebench at 2-3-2-6 once CPU is maxed out). At 3895mhz, I get 10714 ALU in Sandra CPU benchmark. I'll update with more benchies...

SN45G average temps? Can't get under 50C

An easy way to significantly lower cpu temp: 1) Cut out the fan grill at the back of the case (I used a dremel) to improve air flow. 2) Add a 80-to-120mm fan adaptor to the hole (outside of the case, of course). 3) Add a 120mm fan (I use Vantec Stealth 53cfm/28db). Cpu temp for my 2.6c@3.3...

SN41G2 and CNPS7000A-Cu compat question

To lower cpu temp, instead of swapping out the stock heatpipe HSF, I cut out the 80mm fan grill, attached a 120mm fan (with a 80-to-120 adaptor) to the rear of the case(outside), and lowered cpu load temp from 60C to 44C. My fan setting is at low for my 2.6C @ 3.32 setup.

I'm using Twinmos PC3700. It's running at ddr408(5:4) @ 2.5-3-3-7 (SPD) My sticks don't like 2-2-2-5, but I'll tweak each one of them to see what the most aggressive setting is.

Which P4 processor should I buy now?

Hi, I have a 1.8A (B0 Stepping) on Epox 4G4A+ with 256MB PC2700 (cheap stuff), and now stable at 2.7 (150fsb) @ 1.65v/2.7v with stock HSF. Works at 2.88 (160fsb) @ 1.75v, but don't want to risk it. I have been on Seti for over 4 days non-stop and stable @ 44C. Seems like oc'ed 1.8A's are good...
