My memory on my packing slip says 400mhz (or PC3200)? It also says dual channel. If it has to be 533mhz how is this possible?
Here is what it says:
512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 400MHz (2x256M)
I have a dimension 8400. I see that mine has 2x256MB of ddr2 (PC3200 memory). I want to use the dual channel mode. WIll any ddr2 sticks work as long as i put them in pairs or does it have to say dual channel? Under deals I see a lot of deals for ddr2 memory but I am not sure if all ddr2 is...
I just picked up the 8400 deal that everyone got in on.
My questions:
1) I am going to get rid of the X300SE and pick something else up. Should I get the X700 Pro, the X800XL, or the BFG 6600GT OC? Games I would play with this would be Counterstrike: Source on a 2005 fpw. I want to...
Man you guys are awesome. From what it seems I can play with ti4200 at crappy resolution with some slowdown. I see if I upgrade to a 6600gt I can play with nice framerates with good resolution. THanks so much people. Guess I will be purchasing a 6600gt.
I am currently using a 3.2 P4 with 1GB of RAM adn a ti4200.
I have a 2005fpw on the way which has a native resolution of something like 1600x1080 or clsoe to that.
Questions:
1) If I wish to play Half life 2(Counterstrike) will I be able to play on my ti4200?
2) If yes to #1 will...
Man I cannot stand people like this. Do you have any MP3's that you currently don't own the CD. Any software that a friend gave you but still kept installed on his computer. Do you ever speed? Do you ever jaywalk? Do you ever eat sunflower seeds and throw the sheel out the window or on the...
THe only problem I have with the game is that I am out of ammo too much. I see all of theses lockboxes with ammo in tehm but you need a 3 digit security code to get in and I have no clue where to get those codes. I have rn accross about 10 of these things with no chance of getting in them.
They are full of s*** if they said it was a hacker. I have a friend who works at Comp. He said they do this from time to time and to prove it wasn't a mistake they cost for the store was $37.24 so they are still making a profit of almost $2. He explained that this is not the real cost but the...
If you bought the Toshiba E550G Package lat CompUSA last week for $399 you may want to look at your receipt. The yahoos there didn't know how to wring up a package deal. So they rang up the E550 as $250 and each accesory for $50 each for a total of $150. Well I didn't want some of the...
Why shouldn't they get a bad rating on resellers rating? If I go on Ebay and sell something for a low price and I don't sell it to the buyer and say I accidentally priced the reserve too low, I get bad feedback. Why shouldn't they? This is a professional organization. Pay someone to monitor...
I currently have 8MB in my printer. I was thinking about upgrading to 72MB. What will the benefit of this be? Will it matter if I print no file bigger than 8MB?
Video Encoding is why. I don't care what CPU you have right now, it still takes 2+ hours to encode video. You say we aren't using our CPU's efficiently. Well I am for sure. A 7Ghz CPU might actually cut my video encoding time down to 1 hour or less.
I have the Ratio at 5:2:1. I think I am underclocking a bit. Since I will never game on this machine, in fact no mouse or keyboard connected to it, I think it's ok to be underclocked. I only connect remote desktop connection. That's to start encoding and stop encoding.
It says something like JIUHB and it is 02/52 (Week 52 of 2002).
THe great thing is that all this comp is for is Edonkey and Movie Encoding with DVD2ONE
I have a 1800XP+ Thouroughbred. I have it at 1.7 volts (up from 1.6) and am running it at 160X12.5=2000 Mhz. (Stock is 133X11.5)
Is this accetable? I ran Prime 95 for about 45 minutes with no problems and it hits 38.5C according to hardware doctor from ABIT. Is this torture testing good enough?
I just got this chip. Now I am overclocking it by changing FSB. From what I am reading is it possible to change the multiplier without doing anything to the chip itself??
Just picked it up myself. THis thing is beautiful on the outside. Not only does it pivot but the height goes up and down. So it is at eye level for me now. Very bright which I like. Playing Amerca's Army as we speak and ghosting is minimal. It's a keeper. i can't believe a DVI LCD with...
It is not the KOGI. First the Kogi does not have DVI. Second I just got off the phone with vpr matrix and they told me this LCD is based on a Samsung but he was not allowed to tell me which one.
I do mostly video encoding and want to run a benchmark to see which setup I should do. I can either run my computer 1 of 2 ways.
1. P4 2.4B@ 2.7Ghz with memory at 375Mhz using 4:5 divider or
2. P4 2.4B@ 3.0Ghz with memory at 333Mhz using 1:1 divider
What benchmark should I use to compare...
Fry's has that 8PE667 Ultra for 99$ brand new. I have this board with the same chip. I run it at 2.7Ghz with a front side bus of 150x18. I run my memory at the 4:5 ratio so it is running at 375Mhz. Now my memory is basic PC2700 memory. I could probably get this bad boy to 3Ghz if I decided...
I run this board with a 2.4B Processoer overclocked to 2.7Ghz. Stock everything. My memory timing is the 4:5 ratio or something so my PC2700 is running at 375Mhz. I think if I turned my memory ratio to 1:1 I could get it to 2.9Ghz.
What if I can get my FSB up to about 165Mhz? Would it be worth it then to run it at 1:1? Which of these would you choose?
A) CPU @ 2.7GHz with Memory running at 187.5Mhz or
B) CPU running at 2.97Ghz with memory running at 165Mhz
I mostly do video encoding and authoring.
Ok I have a P4 2.4B Processor and I have overclocked to 2.7ghz. I hae PC2700 memory. I want to get it a little higher. I have not changed the voltage at all. It says that my memory when it boots is at 375Mhz. What does this mean? My settings are 150x18 currently. What can I do to make my...
DVD-R is best for movies. THe data is cheaper ($.85 per disc). Sony is Ok but for $300. I just picked up the Pioneer 4X burner for $150. So its either the Sony or the Pioneer and about 100 movies for $300.
