I need an Anti Virus program better than NAV2005

I like Active Virus Shield, which is from Kaspersky and AOL. it's nice and light on the system, and (according to virus.gr) has the highest detection rate available.

imgburn builds a disc image out of whatever files or folders you tell it to, and then burns that image.

Is Trillian 3.1 a good IM program?

I like trillian, and have been using it for a while now. only gripe is the lack of updates, and that the pro version purchase is only good for a year; I'd definetly pay for Trillian Pro if it was a "buy once and use it forever" deal.

Alternative to DVD Decrypter

RipIt4Me.org tiny little utility that updates DVD decryptor's psl lists, rips the dvd with decryptor, and then fixes any issues with the resulting files using a small program called FixVTS. combine with imgburn, and done.

I'm a user of OneCare's perpetual beta, and I rather enjoy how simple it makes things. Although, I was considering switching to a combination of AOL's/Kaspersky's Active Virus Shield and Comodo Firewall.

Need to clear something up about CCCP

you need to remove the separate ffdshow version if you install the CCCP, so it doesn't conflict. the CCCP uses its own ffdshow build for just about everything, so fiddling with the codecs in VFW settings won't hurt. again, if anything breaks, its just a simple matter of disabling it. the CCCP...
