CASES CASES CASES!!! My head is starting to hurt!

I have the Performance Plus 1080 with a 430w TruePower PSU, and it's fantastic. The PSU is really quiet, and the 3 installed case fans (2 rear 1 side) are pretty efficient. Everything is good and quiet, but I do have hearing loss so make what you want of that.

Alright, I got it to boot, but it halted and printed an error that said something like "Warning! CPU Switched" or something like that. So I went into the BIOS, changed stuff, but no matter what it kept reading my 2400+ as an 1800+. I changed the multiplier and stuff, and when i rebooted, it...

Alright, now this is kind of embarassing, but there were good ideas so don't consider your time wasted. And here it is: I had the LED plugged into the pins for the power switch. Switch the things, works fine, no probs with the panaflo or my CPU, just a little mental error. They always say...

Well the Panaflo's kind of on the heatsink, will it hurt my processor to run without the fan? I'll try as soon as I find out, don't want to hurt anything else. No, haven't plugged in any front wiring, just what I said in the OP.

Aluminum fans and LED fans

Anyone know where to get some good, quiet ones? I can't seem to find a good brand name aluminum looking fan to go with my aluminum looking case and heatsink, so let me know what you know about them. Also, anyone know of some good quiet LED fans?

Panaflo L1A or 12L?

Whenever I see panaflo fans on sites, they always have something like FBA08A12L , and L1A is rarely on the site, are these the same fan or is the FBA08A12L an older/newer model?

1 GIG or 512 on XP Pro?

I'd recommend buying name brand memory, even if it warrants buying less of it. But I wear a helmet around the house and bathe with a SCUBA tank, so make what you want of that.

QUIET XP fans...are there any?

With a Alpha PAL 8045 would a Vantec Stealth do a good job cooling it silently? What about the papst fans I've been hearing about? And the Panaflo? What kind of noise/cooling do they have relative to eachother?

I thought cl_fpsmax 100 was default? And I also thought it was fps_max 100 ? Maybe I don't know as much as I thought But I agree, don't turn off vsync

Just dug up that console command ati_npatch 1 Either that or ati_npatch 0 , one of which disables Truform which messes with the HL engine

BTW I will be doing little, if any OCing I'm looking at the thermalrigh SLK-900, can anyone tell me the noise of a 92mm fan relative to the stock? Why are store bought PCs always so much quieter? Can someone give me a description of stock HSF, 80 and 92mm fans relative to store bought PCs?
