Installing OS X Server on VMWare ESXi 5.5

Heh, yeah, it just seems asinine and just so "Apple" of them to require Apple hardware when our entire datacenter consists of 6 HP blade servers in a single chassis. Needing to buy Apple hardware would be such an inefficient use of rack space and energy for us.

I would like to move a server from one SAN to another SAN..

It does not appear that this server is being backed up. This is an environment that I inherited with very little knowledge of how it was working, so I'm having to figure things out as I go. The VMs are being backed up by VEEAM, but it doesn't appear that the blades themselves are being backed...

I would like to move a server from one SAN to another SAN..

The operating system (Server '08 R2) and it's data drive are housed on our old SAN in a RAID 10 array. I would like to move it to our new SAN so that I can completely rebuild the array on our old SAN. I would just totally blow it away if it wasn't a big deal, but the OS partition on this...

The device is not going to drive the teaching, it's going to be the other way around, but it seems like we can make most devices work with what we want to do... it's just a matter of finding the most convenient device. There are going to be pros and cons of each. Classwork will be delivered...

What kind of price points are you getting for the 3600s? I'm waiting on a few people from Cisco to call me back about EDU discounts, but what's the price disparity between the 1600s and the 3600s? I see on Cisco's site, they strongly recommend 2600s and 3600s in high-density areas.

Shin Splints

This is my thought as well. It's great if you're familiar with it and you can save your employer the up-front costs of its counterpart, but I've seen too many free tools end up being the same deal as a free puppy.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject as I'm very new in this area, but in what situations would you be interested to see disk thresholds crossed? Are you saying you want to see when the disk writes faster than the specified number you assign to the alert?

Any benefit to using a domain for a home network?

You could also make bogus DNS entries for websites that you don't want people on your domain going to, assuming they aren't savvy enough to figure out how to get around it. Not that you would need a domain for that, but it would be a central point of management from your household.

What are you trying to accomplish by having a home domain? Keep in mind that, legally, you need to purchase a Windows Server OS and have a dedicated computer/server always on. I guess it's good practice if you're preparing yourself for MCITP. I did that a couple years ago to get a better...
