Doom 3 Expansion $24 + VERY SHADY store policy at Best Buy

As per their policy, it states that they won't do it on a "special" or "bonus" offer.. That is somewhat ambigious as anything on sale could be considered a special offer, which I think is a much more valid excuse to not give you your 10% back (or possibly even PM in that case) then lack of...

    ATT Wireless

Well, when I can get two new phones for free anyway, it's still cheaper to just pay the cancelation fee and do it that way than to go directly through AT&T to get two phones and pay full price, yes I do. About 300 dollars cheaper. Sprint and TMobile both worked with me when I wanted to...

    ATT Wireless

Well, I am going to upgrade my plan get a new phone (actually 2 new phones), but I can get a heck of a lot better deal going though an outside vendor then AT&T. I am locked in a contract though for another year and I want to get out of it (I've already gone to the store to see if they will...

    Building a media center PC

if all he really wants to do is watch tv, dvds, record tv (in a dvr/pvr type way), then he doesn't need much. i'm personally running a 5 year old gateway w/ an 800 mhz amd chip, old 512 ram, SLOW 27 gig hard drive (we are talking ata 33 or less), etc. all the stuff you would expect with an older...

need HELP connecting my laptop to TV through s-video

I don't know what kind of TV you have, but I've used a TV before that you had to go under the TV settings to tell it to use the S-Video input instead of the RCA input for whatever video channel it is hooked up too. You would think the TV would auto sense the S-video plugged in, but this model...

    NOW OR LATER?

2k is still a heck of a notebook, check out the Dell 9100. for like 1600 you can have a heck of a notebook. 128 meg 9700, dvd+r, 60 gig 7200 rpm drive, etc. you can get the hypersonics down to around 2300 for an awesome notebook too.

    NOW OR LATER?

If you have 3K to spend (even max), you can get a killer notebook. Check out the notebooks at www.hypersonic-pc.com or look at some Sagers. You can get a killer Dell 9100 for that price too, not sure how great it is, but I've been looking at it lately and it looks to be pretty good.

Are these "Free" magazine suscriptions really "free"?

sounds like the deal they offer with purchases at best buy (among other places) where you do have to give them your cc to get your eight free issues. the freebizmag deals are different.

WTB gamer system - your recommendations pls

i tend to agree with theNEOone... you will probably get a better preforming, more upgradable, more stable computer if you build one yourself, but for everything you are wanting it to do, that is really overkill. i'm personally running a 4.5 year old gateway with an athlon 800mhz that is slow by...

Classic question, don't have the answer

Ok, so it's the classic AMD vs Intel. I've looked at most of the posts here, but I have a bit of a more indepth (maybe?) question. First, I've been using AMD for the last 4 years, it's still the same 800mhz Athlon I bought back then and it's getting kinda slow for some stuff. I've just...

    CompUSA, no int/payments till 2005

My first post on the forums in ages! Anyway, CompUSA has no interest, no payments until 2005 (Jan. and if the bill isn't paid in full on that due date or before, the accumulated interest will be added to the bill) for any computer over 999. The thing is, anything that goes on your bill (at...

    ASP with MS Exchange

Ok, so to make a long story short, I'm looking for some tips (actually lots of help b/c I've never use ASP before) on how to make a page to interact with the Calendar feature of Outlook. We are on an Exchange server here and someone told me that it would be possible to make a page that would...
