Which Android tablet for Game Development?

Thanks. I get the feeling I might just have to bite the bullet on this occasion and get the Galaxy Note 10 2014. Unfortunately only the 16GB version is sold in the UK so I'll have to pick up a microSD card too. Sorry but I'm not looking for a smartphone, plus anything less than 7" would be...

If I went for the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 would the S Pen give me the full pressure sensitive range or is it just pen-to-paper instead of Wacom like?

X-Fi sound card worth it?

Asus' Sound Manager - Enabling Dolby Digital 5.1?

Well anyway, other than using the "analogue outputs", is there a way to get 5.1 sound via digital out (i.e. optical/coaxial)? I don't have analogue 5.1 speakers :|

It isn't a sound card, I'm using the on board sound, I have read in the manual that it does support DD 5.1 but I've never found a way to enable it... As for the games, its weird, it picks up hardware acceleration AND my 5.1 speakers, but I lose the rear two (unless its a THX game then it works...

Asus' Sound Manager - Enabling Dolby Digital 5.1?

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but this is what happens, when I run the Coaxial or Optic through the motherboard to the speakers it works fine, Asus' Sound Manager is set to Input and output for both analogue and digital signals so everything works as it should...however there's one problem...

Asus A8V Deluxe and Promise RAID (IDE Mode) working in Win64

That's the thing though, I've got no choice but to use the Promise RAID as the VIA Raid doesn't work with single SATA drives in IDE mode, also the IDE RAID is only available on the Promise controller so that rules the VIA IDE RAID out of the question, the two standard IDE slots are used up with...

Asus A8V Deluxe and Promise RAID (IDE Mode) working in Win64

Been trying to find drivers everywhere for this and none of them seem to be working, I can get the VIA RAID to work fine in Windows 64 BUT the Promise 20378 Driver(s) just will not work, no matter what, has anyone had any luck getting the Promise drivers working in Win64? If so how.

what TV tuner card?

I've been thinking of upgradeing my 7 year old Hauppauge WinTV Stereo to the latest Digital Card, mainly Hauppauge's 250 BUT will it be able to channel through my Leadtek Winfast PVR software suite (My current card can't)? Or should I get the Winfast TV Card?

AFAIK I've never seen an Envision in the UK, as for the Samsung 997DF's they don't sell them here either but we do have the 957P's. They're about £170 inc. VAT but not inc. P&P so...

Recommended 19" for Dual Screening

I've been looking towards changing my current monitors with two new 19" monitors, currently I have: Smile 17" but has lost it's pure white and is starting to get very blurry. Formac 19" was cheap at the time but it hurts my eyes at 19" as it's slightly blurry too. Both are pretty old monitors...

Forced Reboots?

'm not sure what's going on but ever since I've bought my new GFX Card, my computer's been restarting itself and I presume due to heat, I never had any Temperature monitors running as I never had any problems with heat beforehand. Now the problem is when I play high end games with graphics full...

RAID gone wrong

Try using Partition Magic and delete the partition on the Hard-Drive, then create another partition on that drive to NTFS or FAT32, that should solve your problem, if not I'm out of ideas :|

Or instead of changing the jumpers all you need to do is just disable RAID anyway. From what (s)he said earlier I presume the RAID array is already deleted.

Plug the Hard-Drive back in as you did previously RAIDed, then when booting up, hit whichever button it is to go into your RAID BIOS, then simply delete the RAID partition, then reformat the drives when you've put it back to IDE.

new mobo, new probs: can't boot

I presume you've got an NTFS partition? Usually the NTFS partition has security as so when you change hardware etc, it'll blue screen telling you that reason, and this is generally why people always recommend you make a complete and utter 100% reformat or a brand new installation of windows...

Why do people buy LCDs over CRTs?

I'd get myself an LCD if the monitors aren't so easy to crack, a little tap and the break (with your finger nail), when I think about things for some reason I start tapping on the monitor glass (no I haven't cracked an LCD screen FYI :P). Besides LCDs are also way too expensive, and they don't...

I'm not sure about the ti4200 but doesn't it have a power connector to power it? I could be wrong. Anyway if you get argle bargle on screen, then instead of using the latest nVidia drivers (I presume 41.09 I had the same problems), go to your manufacturer's site and d/l the drivers from there...

hard drive "clicking" alot..... help!

Try right clicking the desktop --> properties --> Screen Saver --> Power In there, if you've got "Turn off hard disks" on a time, then change it to "never", that should fix the problem ;)

dual channel ddr:4 sticks or 2 sticks?

My old Epox 8KTA3 had 4 DIMM slots too ;) BTW if you happen to mix RAM (i.e. PC2100 with PC2700 and PC3200) then the higher RAM module(s) will downclock itself to match the lowest RAM module, so there's no need to worry about that either ;)
