First time with 3DMark03, need assistance.

Yeah, That sounds normal actually. You really need 2.5gHz from an XP and a Radeon 9500 or better to score decently...With 3.4gHz (P4) and a hot Radeon 9800, I only get 5700 3dmarks. And as far as the freezing, back down he OC until it stops. C

Barton 2500 vs P4 2.53: which is better?

Try a 2.4 P4 for $150, Albatron PX845PEV Pro mobo for $82, 512mb PC3200 for $120. Overclock it to 150fsb and run it at ddr400. Don't be so nervous about OC. The C1 stepping 2.4 will run rock-stable and cool with the Intel HS/F at 150fsb. Use stock voltage and you'll have a reliable...

Evan, What concerns me most is the overclockability. I need 190+ fsb to make my 2.66 do what I need...so I'll need 250+fsb to make a 3.2 (16x200) work. If not, I'll just buy a 3.06 when the price plummets. I think the 3.2 is gonna struggle to make 4 gHz. Additionally, will Canterwood/Springdale...

P4 2.4GHz C1 on PX845PEV Pro Temp question

On my 845PEV Pro, I made the mistake of thinking system WAS cpu. Later I found out that when I added a TEC to the CPU, the CPU temp dropped to -1C with 5C chilled water, so it seems accurate. But when aircooled it read 30-35C which seemed low...especially for 1.85v ;) C

SiS 655 *2-18-03 UPDATE* MSI, Gigabyte and ASUS Done

Well, I have a "golden" SL6DX P4 2.66 that does 183mHz fsb at cas2,6,3,3 on an Albatron PX845PEV Pro on AIR. With the GA-8SQ800, I can do 167-168 at cas2, 6,3,3 and 169-170 at cas2.5, 7,3,3. And at this latter setting the memory bandwidth was pathetic. However this board does great things down...

Well, Thumbs down here... I can't do anything with a mobo that tops out at 169fsb. At slower timings, it's a good mobo, but for xtreme oc'ing, not so good. C
