WinXP Question: Changed file association but icon didn't change?

I changed the file association of *.pl (perl) files from the activestate perl to gvim because I want gvim to open the file when I double click it instead of execute the script. However, the file icon did not change along with it. I can't seem to find a way to do this. Thanks, cmai

Software to lock a HDD

At work, we use a Time Tracer card made by Golden Soft (fits in the pci slot). Basically you can set it up so that any writes to the HD are never actually written. So every reboot you'll have the drive in the same condition. You can even set rules for specific partitions.

Is it ok to pick up a laptop while it is running? Or put it on an uneven surface?

Willl doing this risk damading the hard drive? I'm so paranoid when people pick up my laptop while it's running to look at it and twist and turn it. Someone please comfort me.

In rsync, how do I something equivalent to "exclude everything BUT..."

Anyone familiar with rsync, Say I want only several or so files from various places. How do I make rsync only check these specific files and not have to do: exclude from = exclude.test exclude.test - asdf - asdf - kitchen sink .. . . . . Thanks!

How do I get my perl script to automatically enter passwords?

What's the typical relationship between fan speed and cpu temp?

Well it wouldn't have to be an HD image. We could opt to keep the files in a database track the changes and then copy those changes into the HD image. The reason I would like to deal with an HD image is because the install process and manipulation of settings in each OS is a hassle and time...

Hardware to only power a USB?
