    1 No, not really. 2 for benchmarks or maybe for gaming if you are cpu bound (which would pretty well only be if you have an 8800 series) but for everyday stuff my c2d 6600 actually "feels" a little slower than my old box with a x2 3800, i think due to the higher latency to memory.
